It's ridiculous that we are in such a strong position after the run of 7 games no wins no goals. That highlights just how good our squad is. It's crazy we couldn't get 1 win at the start of the season (Huddersfield or Burnley for example) that would give us the 3 points we need now to be no where near relegation. I hope Parish and Co have learnt their lesson. Yes, in September you might think you can start an experiment with a foreign Manager trying to change the DNA of the club and if it doesn't work out you have enough time and games go sort it out but that's just not the case with this League. Parish is very, VERY lucky we are where we are now and he and the Investors will come out unscathed. But if he hasn't learnt his lesson we will go down sooner or later.[/quote] Give it a rest, bleating on about how Parish is lucky. We are going into our 6th season in the toughest league in the world, with a new stand approved to upgrade the stadium and all you do is moan.

Personally I hope Huddersfield stay up as they are toilet and would definitely take one of the spots the following year.

Most of my posts have been about us staying up and the great job Roy has done. I'll continue to say my opinion that this is the season the main screw up was really at board level though. I want a season where the relegation topic doesn't have many posts because it doesn't involve Palace.

I don't entirely disagree but if you look at the three teams likely to go down this season, all thee would have been seen as reasonably sure its for survival and probably top ten. Outside the top six has never looked so precarious

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Thank you, Wet Spam!' by Midlands Eagle (I never thought I'd say that.) We just moved to 14th place, on goal difference.

From those before him despite none of them keeping us in the Top Tier for how many years now?

Getting de Boer in and asking him to get us to play in the way suggested was a bollocks decision, amplified heavily by the fact that he was a tosspot of the first order. Happily the decision was swiftly backed out but he is right; but for the grace of God that could have led to slide that ended in 2020 and in League One.

From those before him despite none of them keeping us in the Top Tier for how many years now? Is it too complex for you to understand people can do good and bad things either with intent or by mistake and it's okay to criticise even if you support what they have done in other cases. Parish And co (I'll always add and Co because I feel the man gets a lot of blame like he's the only one involved) messed up big time with De Boer and nearly cost us our Premier League status. Yes they fixed it in a way by getting Roy in but he has arguably over-performed and worked a minor miracle, we should be down. All I'm saying is as long as they have learnt from this mistake it will make them better Leaders in the future and hopefully steer us right from now on. If next season Roy has walked because of lack of transfer funds or because he wants so and so striker but Dougie Freedman the Director with no experience has signed a 16 year old from the Finnish League then I think we will be in major trouble. Feel free to disagree and state your point without turning to insults unless of course you're a dickhead with the internet.

If Stoke lose next week they can’t catch us (realistically). They’ll be 6 points behind with 2 to play and they are already 15 goals worse off. If Southampton lose, they’ll be 6 points behind with 3 to play. They will then have Everton, Swansea and City left so unlikely to catch us (but never say never). I think next Sat will decide it all for us. If we win, then I believe we are safe and the other 2 lose, we will be safe.

I don't know why after recent displays and collapses but something tells me Southampton will survive. Getting the teams like West Ham and Swansea below us in case they win 3 games will be crucial. Bournemouth are safe and have nothing to play for. Everton are in a bit of a bad place as well - safe and nothing to play for plus Everton fans starting to get arrogant about having Allardyce as their Manager and the Club posting a damn questionnaire to fans asking if they want Sam gone is madness. If Southampton win those 2 games then the Swansea game will be huge for them. I think one more win for us and the club's Southampton could relegate might be Swansea, Huddersfield or Brighton - please not us!
