Was told on day 1 of Allardyce that contact had been made with Silva and I have been told today that we're still very much interested. The issue is Silva taking his time. Porto are still very much in the mix and Watford are offering a more competitive financial package BUT Watford's policy of dispensing with coaches every five minutes is making Silva think carefully about his next move.

This is what I've been told. Someone mugged me off when I initially broke Silva news, suggesting I make stuff up. So, get this straight. This is what I've been told by the same source who said we'd be interested when it looked like Porto was a done deal.

Maybe the reason Watford are in talks now is that Parish was in Spain last night finalising the 5 year deal with Zaha? Hopefully, after his tlaks with Watford, he will talk to Parish sometime tomorrow (fingers crossed)? I personally think that Palace has a better squad of players, more usited to Solva's style of play. As for transfer bugdet, it depends whether Palace have a decent war chest for this transfer sewson, as well as January..

Ultimately, the way Watford treat their coaches, if Silva was to go there rather than build something long term here then it says a lot about his motivation.
