Right, so borrowing money to invest is a wrong thing to do. Better tell the whole of the private sector that then. It is appropriate to fund the NHS to the level where it can achieve its SLAs. Otherwise it's simply bad management. For information, here is a list (in order) of countries that spend more per capita than the UK: USA (136% more) Also worth pointing out the countries in the g20 with higher corporation tax than a Corbyn government was proposing: Canada But apparently he would've disincentivized all with ambition. "Basic economics" apparently

You may get more than Bob, but you'd miss out on a fair few and the ones that want to jump on your old chap will be of a lower standard too.

Any evidence to back your beautifully devised analogy up or just usual bulls***?

"The Institute of Directors said a rise in corporation tax was “not something we would support”, adding: “It looks like the corporation tax competition will be a big feature of Donald Trump’s presidency. It is at a good competitive level in the UK right now and we wouldn’t want it to go back up.” "Adam Marshall, director-general of the British Chambers of Commerce, said higher corporation tax would “alarm” companies unless it was linked to a corresponding cut in other levies such as business rates. “We need to send a message that the country is open for business after Brexit. A big increase in a profit tax does not send that message,” he said." Any evidence to suggest raising corporation tax wouldn't scare off businesses? Or what about increasing the minimum wage to £10 per hour and how it would choke small businesses? Oh and who would pay for University Tuition fees if not the students themselves? But it's ok isn't it - we can just keep borrowing from banks (funnily enough the same institutions Labour are so against?)

I've given you my evidence in plain English, quoting the obvious low rate despite the increase. There are many people you can quote making blasè statements about any economic policy, you're gonna need something a bit better than that. More business owners than you'd suspect voted for Jeremy Corbyn.

Well, I suspect no business owners voted for Corbyn. But I am prepared to accept that maybe some bearded owner of a herbal tea-bar in Islington might have done.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

That's nonsense. When I had a business I just voted for who I thought would be best in government. The labour manifesto was a revelation I thought, certainly not anti-business. How could it be the country needs their taxes.
