You are wrong. Most run-off goes into the sewers and is charged for as 'surface water drainage' somewhere within your bill. You can have this removed if you direct your run-off into a soakaway. Some properties benefit from a 'non-return to sewer' dispensation, for example if you direct used water into a soakaway or if you have e.g. a zillion plants to water. OK, then I am wrong. It's not like that down here though, at least in the villages. Maybe South-West water work differently.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

In a poll taken on the 4th.... reported by the Washington Examiner 71% of Trump supporters feel a civil war is coming, while 40% Of Biden voters also feel the same. This was even before the events in the capitol and corporate media decided on another purge of conservatism. Before Biden compared Cruz and co to Nazis. Looks like my predictions of zero 'healing', conflict and slow fragmentation are far more accurate than the predictions from some others. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Jan 2021 6.52pm)

Yep I can hear the chants now: “We need a war. We need a war. We need a war”. What’s the betting the US begin a conflict in the next 12 months? The other day it was crowds chanting "Hang Mike Pence, Hang Mike Pence", so there definitely a bit of variety in there. I wouldn't like to say what will happen over the next 12 months, but I do 'hope' there isn't mass conflict, which sets me apart from some. Maybe more instances of both acts of domestic terrorism and some continued inner city violence is on the cards though.

Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Jan 2021 6.48pm) I'm not sure that I would put the two on an equal footing. A mob of domestic terrorists beating a cop to death who was defending a government confirming the election result might be somewhat more pertinent. That will hold more of a place in history than words. But if Biden's words are so important that they can suddenly be said to be encouraging civil war sentiment, then we need look no further than the rhetoric of the current President over years, and especially recent months in being encouragement of what has and may transpire. I feel sadness for that fallen Police officer, those who attacked him were wrong. However, there's video of a unarmed non violent woman being shot in the head by security in the capitol building. Should she have been there....no. Should she have been shot in the head.....no. What is happening is due to the polarization within the country and minds are being closed and resolves made. Personally, I've viewed this as inevitable for some time. While others, who have never been that good at understanding their opposites just don't quite get it yet. Oh yes it is This is from South West Water Am I charged for surface water drainage? Our tariffs include a charge for foul sewage and highway drainage, and for surface water drainage. Your tariff will depend on whether you have a connection to our sewer as some customers have private surface water drainage systems. If you believe your property doesn’t have a surface water connection, please complete the form below. We will check our records and may visit your property to assess the drainage arrangements. We’ll then confirm if you are entitled to a discount And, as a matter of interest, did you know that the Town of Truro purchased a water supply system in 1875 that was owned by the Intercolonial Railway. You may know that some localities still have water supplied by Water Companies but sewage managed by the old Water Authorities. So in some areas you get two bills.

What makes me wince about what is happening is that one of the key elements to actually launching a real coup, is that you seek to deny any and all methods of public communication to your enemy. Not having a bunch of half-wits running around inside a building dressed like bad extras from a ultra low budget Post-apocalpytic schlock film.

The smart ones know its lies but its convenient for them. On the twentieth....the mono culture institutional and corporate world all merge with government. They are already looking to shut down Fox and Newsmax. And these clowns are happy to talk about Trump attempting coups. If he actually tried one it would be interesting....because unless he actually does all that talk about America never being socialist will all be so much waffle. Because America....will definitely end up socialist.....for the working and current middle class. The corporates and elite though will remain really rich. Kind of like all socialist countries really. Both deaths are tragic. Hers especially due to unnecessarily dying draped in a flag in allegiance to someone who has both completely ignored her death, and attacked her/their presence when blowback reached him. Under the bus they go. I can't really criticise the conduct of police or security, put in such an impossible position. The actions of a security guard protecting people in a high pressure situation cannot be equated to the actions of a mob containing domestic terrorists armed with what turns out to be guns, pipe bombs, zip ties and 'homemade napalm'. For all I know this was a good woman who get caught up in Trump's self indulgent fantasy to the extent that she felt some kind of 'power to the people' force-field as she put herself in extreme danger. I feel for her family. She paid a a terrible price for personal allegiance to an empty suit. She allowed her values and service to her country to be hijacked by a self interested grifter.

Your perspective and mine are incompatible. I guess it's a reflection of where the US is right now.

Well yes the central difference is that I don't view these people, nor those burning down inner cities as my people. I do not in any way, shape of form have a preference for which brand of domestic terrorist is more acceptable to me.
