Don’t all of these date from his time as VP and as a Senator? I would hope that there is greater security provided to the POTUS which they can either accept or decide to ignore, Both seem to have happened! In that case these files have been there for over two years. Not sure that makes it any better.

I bet an awful lot of people are searching in the weirdest of places at the moment and reporting discoveries to the authorities that aren’t getting reported. When it’s an unfortunate oversight it just proves the fallibility of humans and the systems they design. It’s embarrassing but not sinister. Resisting the return, refusing cooperation, and possibly destroying evidence is sinister.

What's embarrassing is that confidential files can essentially disappear without anyone having any way of knowing.

I note that the liberal left wing media seem to have let the small matter of Biden and papers go quiet.

Small matters tend to get that treatment. By the way, exactly who do you regard as the “liberal left wing media” and how and why are you reading it?

Jimmy Dore....who is very much a progressive but no fan of the mainstream Democrats....on the absolute disaster the Democrats are making of foreign policy (all predicted). They have escalated the west into a dangerous cold war and have made real enemies of vital economic partners, which will only result in long term lower living standards for us unless this picture changes. People need to understand the implications of having morons and ideologs directing our future. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Jan 2023 8.27pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Jan 2023 8.27pm) It won’t be a surprise to anyone that I don’t follow Jimmy Dore! Indeed I am only barely aware of his existence, let alone his politics. So I did some research. He seems strangely popular with the right and not at all with the soft left, though a few on the wierd left appear more tolerant. The general view seems to be that he is another one milking prejudice and on that alone not anyone I am unlikely to be paying him much attention. You can read some opinions on him here:-

Oh dear Mike Pence and Jimmy Carter are also guilty of keeping secret documents As some of us predicted this has been going on for decades and nobody noticed or cared until Trump.

That’s only because of the way Trump thought he was above the law and refused to cooperate. The odd oversight raises questions about the system. Deliberate retention is in another category.

Trump should not have reacted the way he did the reason he did was because he felt he was being persecuted and with good reason as more and more of this stuff comes out. Why was it an issue for him but for others no one seemed bothered. Of course the FBI has to do something about it now as these historic cases emerge. Looking forward to the revelation that George Washington left top secret documents lying around in plain sight of Benedict Arnold Edited by Badger11 (25 Jan 2023 2.17pm)
