It gave added buoyancy to the Labour vote, though. I don't doubt it. Then again its a bit of a weird thing that getting 2.4% more of the vote, delivers 57 more seats in parliament. Its almost as if the game is rigged towards self interest by which ever group is in power.

Is this the discussion Canterbury still? Didn't they dump loads of housing benefit people there?
Absolutely no idea. Presumably that would be in the last few years though, given the Tory Majority - which maybe was something maybe the government and local Conservative held council should have thought twice about.

Hates ethnic minorities, students, Catholics, women, gay people, people with political differences, hmmmm. If you were on a dating website would you interests include burning books, and smashing store windows? When did I ever post anything that suggested that? More lefty/liberal debate stalling bulls***. I don't hate anyone for their ethnicity. My kids are students, My sister in law is Catholic, I'm married to a woman and I am an advocate of gay rights. I'm not keen on smart arse, holier than thou liberal/lefties though.

Lots of ferrying voters around in Wallington and central Croydon. No point in East Surrey. Don't even knock on your door. Corbyn spread he and his team about a bit more than May. She ignored bits of the south she could've kept.

Remember Canterbury is full of students hence the vote change towards Corbyn due to his promises of FREE Tuition and cheap housing it is pretty obvious when you look at it really and not surprising. Theresa May missed a treat on that one.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Possibly. 318 Conservative Seats subtract 261 Labour seats is 57 seats. The tories polled 2.4% more than Labour, which I don't think works out as 57 more seats.

Don't forget the hundreds of thousands of ordinary Labour members who mobilised and got the message out on the doorstep and in the street. I was scoffed at before (during the labour leadership election when there was a surge in membership) when I said they would make a difference.

Tuition fees are a disgrace, and housing is far too expensive (student or otherwise). If you want a good job entry you need a degree. We're asking people to rack up huge debts in order to fulfil the recruitment needs of UK corporations, and in doing so undermining the UK cultural interests and academia. Now I'll agree too many people go to university - but companies need to be providing reasonable other routes into professions outside of graduate programs.
