I fully accept his desire and right to get paid more. A player who spends five minutes at a club, mostly injured, and then moves on cannot expect much love from fans. He will get zero from me. This is particularly so since the club had the potential for much better things next season. I fear we will now return to bang average without him.
I suppose I'm funny like that. I find myself just hoping he stays injury free and lives up to his potential because imo he's such a special talent. I would want him to express that talent with us and it's a crying shame that such incredible potential for Palace next year will be blighted by the his departure. C'est le guerre, as the French say. It's just the way it is.

I do think some people are overplaying his departure and the impact it will have on the team . OK he is a good player but he is a fairly one footed right winger who scores occasional spectacular goals . If we only lose him and maybe Guehi then i do not see that as being terminal to the teams progression . A bigger loss would be Eze who i believe is more creative from a wandering role and has the ability to score more goals. If we re invest wiselyi can still see us pushing for a top 8 finish

People may argue money/him never really wanting to be here (demeanour), etc. etc. however I couldn't buy into that without recognising myself as being very bitter and blinded by emotion. He'll leave in exactly the same manner he joined so it can hardly be a shock and realistically, whilst on the up, we are hardly Bayern. If that's where his talent can get him, it seems nothing but logical that he'd would go. He may well be in France's Euro squad were he playing for Bayern. Big 'may' but still, there's a World Cup in 2 years. If I were to despair at the loss of a winger, especially one with his injury record, I'd recognise that as being right back in 'only Wilf can save us' territory. IMHO, we are not. If Kamada is coming then we have a replacement already sorted. A replacement that knows Glasner well too. Glasner's sum is greater than the parts , for my money, therefore I'm not too hung up on the parts. It's surely our new operating model now anyway? Buy young and at lower prices, keep em for some success, then sell high? COYP and fair play Michael as far as I'm concerned, gave us quite a bit in his short stay but the last minute FK flying in against Utd was my highlight.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Any updates on this? I'm so used to reading clickbait bollocks that I just assumed this was more of the same. But reading through, it sounds like this Bayern link actually has some substance to it. Is he definitely gone? Thanks.

I will be glad when it’s all done and dusted and we move on. Been a distraction and it always turns into a saga. I’m sure someone has already been lined up to replace him and we can go again. Of the potential replacements, Summerville from Leeds has potential and will most probably give us a good investment should we need to sell him. We will find another Olise and I’m pleased our squad has more meat on the bones now to deal with his departure. Goodbye Olise and thank you for your services if only brief. The fact is we most probably need to sell 2 or 3 every year to freshen things up and keep within the FFP nonsense.

I'm just wondering to what extent the 30th June plays a part in the timing of the sale. In other words, do Palace want to book the?sale this week or next; likewise Bayern.

This time last year i was super disappointed about losing Olise to Chelsea but a year on i am not anywhere near as gutted. I think it is a lot about expectations and i think reading between the lines it was always likely Olise would move on if not this season then certainly next one. I do though feel Bayern are getting him on the cheap especially when you think we sold AWB to Man U for a similar amount. Having said that with the financial fair play requirements it looks like there maybe not the inflated fees going forward as we have been accustomed to in the past.

Isn't the 30th when PSR kicks in, ie, Forest, Chelsea etc HAVE to sell to conform with PSR? Also, it's when contract periods are classified(I know Olise was on a 4/5yr one), just my take.

Reports now appearing that Bayern are also looking at triggering Bernado Silva's release clause at City. If true, that would be odd given he plays in the same position to Olise. Also, as talented as Olise is, I'd still put Silva above him at the moment.
