I don't see the problem with replacing Roy, he is due to leave in the summer, so if there is a suitable candidate out there then it would make sense to change now, giving the new man competitive matches to put his stamp on things rather than pre season friendlies which are not a good indication of what's to come.

That is absolutely true but it needs to be the manager they were hoping to get to replace Roy in the summer or at least one they would be happy with for the long term.

We don’t do “long term”. The only manager since Coppell to manage for at least three years was…….Roy. For no-money Palace it’s more about hitting the ground running, keeping the club out of relegation.

Roy and Ray have at to fire fight with a horridness injury list and all i here is its the boards fault its Roys fault , the board cant spend 100m on back up players get real , Roy needs to see the youngsters do well in training against senior players , we dont see that side ,

So be careful what you wish for , as it could really bite you in the arse COYP

Training against players in front of no one to put pressure on you will not show how good you are imo. Any job will be the same. At college back when I did my apprenticeship it didn’t matter, you weren't goner flood a building or blow something up with a mistake. Out in the real world is a different level. Many great players were put in the cauldron and came through. Many didn’t granted but that was how they made it or not.

Loose to Brentford and I think Roy has to go or move him upstairs and get a new manager in now it would be really harsh to sack him he can work with the new one until the end of the season

Palace were going to have to make an appointment in the summer, that's a fact. If they chose to do so now the chances are that the candidates for the job would be different - who's available now v. who could be available in the summer.

If Hodgson was to lose his job as a result of the recent winless run, then the expectation is for the new man to quickly change things around and get some wins on the board. The pressure would be on. Requiring the players to change the training habits and tactical play that they have been used to. It could work - it might not. Better I think to have those changes in the summer when everybody is fresh and the friendlies are ideal opportunities to tinker with such things.

If I was Roy I'd step down at the earliest opportunity and retire. I wouldn't want all the hassle involved with football managing limited resources.

Oversee a good thrashing for Brentford and then take a few weeks off in the Caribbean with the Missus.

Palace have got to spend to save the season. Let Parish and the Yankee Doodles take all the flak if they don't.

I don't believe that Guardiola, Klopp, Arteta and Postecoglu have been shown the door.
