Whilst I quite like Southgate as someone else has said he benefitted from taking over the England team when they were at a particularly low ebb so driving them upwards would always have been seen as being successful (to some degree) personally I hope he stays & uses the experience that he has gained in these international tournaments to become a better England manager - but in the eventuality that he decides that it is time for him to stand down ( & for him to publicly say he is thinking about not continuing is for me a landmark moment, a real line in the sand)

If Potter had stayed at Brighton he would probably be high on most peoples list - (although I see on some clickbait sites that there is already media fuelled talk of him falling out of favour at Chelsea & them looking for a replacement for him)

Over the years there hasn't been a glut of really successful English managers.

Edited by Willo (13 Dec 2022 12.55pm) It has long been my belief that no action affecting this nation, whether that be political, economic, footballing or any other reason, should be done so without the consultation of Joey Barton. The oracle has now spoken.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
