I haven't seen any climate Activists in coal-burning Russia or China. Or anywhere near the raging fires of the rainforests of South America. Is there any reason for that ? Edited by Forest Hillbilly (29 Jan 2024 12.05pm)

I know what you're saying but even if none of it is exaggerated, then it isn't going to kill the earth. I should imagine that of all the locations on earth northern Europe will be better than most. Just another reason why border control is more than a little important.

Because 90% of the wealth is with 10% of the population. There's plenty to go around, but the top table don't want to share.

By we I mean the whole of humanity. Not just those living on this little island. Science has predicted both the consequences of not responding and the benefits of doing so, but always with margins of error. Yes, an increasing population and developing countries are going to happen although it seems the first will flatten in 50 years if trends continue. Any contribution from natural climate change, whether it increases or moderates the warming, will be far too slow to make any appreciable difference. It won’t be noticeable. What the biggest problem is, is hardly worth debating. They both feed off each other and both need managing. So both are important. What we as voters need to do is ensure that those we choose to represent us do not allow commercial interests to dominate the need for collective action. The UN and the WEF are doing a steadfast job in trying to strengthen resolve and coordinate action whilst parts of the fossil fuel industries are resisting. By science do you mean all the ones who agree with the ‘predictions’. The ones who get their living agreeing with doomsday scenarios keeping the cash flowing. Try checking the science of the few who think it’s all bollox. You do know that science, as I’ve stated before doesn’t become the truth because more are saying it. Remember the ones who were mocked when they said the earth was round. Pretty much made into heretics by dint of the truth. No one knows if it’s correct or not. What is true is that the earth is living and is going to adapt as it always has. We are but a thorn in its toe.

It never fails to amaze me when it comes to environmental issues how many people speak with such utter conviction about something they know so little about. We accept scientific fact in nearly all other walks of life, but on this one topic the Daily Express know better
