Too much emotion and rushing to judgement is rarely helpful. We don't know everything and the only thing that's clear is that it's all very complicated. On a more general point I believe the WHO is perfectly correct to suggest that the developed world must not attempt to monopolise supplies when the vulnerable remain unvaccinated in the developing world. I think the right noises are being made by the politicians but they are going to face a lot of internal pressures.

So you decided not to come! That doesn't alter the fact that you were openly boasting on here that you intended to break the rules and quite possibly the law. From memory I thought you were based in Plymouth but it hardly makes any difference. The point being made was that your current boasting behaviour isn't the first time it's happened has it? Never based in Plymouth old man! Stop making up s***! Broken NO laws, and enjoying Dubai right now!! Enjoy Cornwall, great place but the locals are weird, especially in Truro

Still if your beloved EU had their way that looks like it would be the case. Admit the EU have f***ed up big time and shown their true colours. Food for thought for you rejoiners

We need to take decisions which have the greatest impact on reducing the overall spread of the pandemic, the potential of the virus to mutate in a way which negates the effectiveness of vaccines and protects the greatest number of people as a consequence. That doesn't always mean doing what people on the Hol want to do. It might mean listening to the experts.

Food for thought for you rejoiners No, we shouldn't vaccinate all our own first if it isn't actually in their best interests to do so. That's why it's complicated and we need to listen to the experts. I am not an expert but I am prepared to admit they know more than me. Are you? The EU have got themselves embroiled in a very silly public row which does no-one any favours. Emotions have spilled over and hopefully everyone will now dampen them down and work together in our mutual interests.

No I am not an expert and unlike some I do not profess to be an expert on anything. My point was we should look after our own first, if you don’t agree that’s your prerogative. Embroiled in a silly row!! No they f***ed up Could you please explain whose interests would be best served by not being vaccinated? Edited by Spiderman (31 Jan 2021 3.50pm)

I am, and was not, the least bit wound up. All I did was point out your hypocrisy then and now. I would do the same for anyone who was publically suggesting that they proposed ignoring the rules as you did then, and have again done recently, but especially for you given your aggressiveness and rudeness in the past. Purely to encourage others not to. Maybe my words helped discourage you from actually going ahead. If so it worked. Shaming people can have that effect, even for the determinedly stupid.

How likely that is, is up for debate, but it was objectively a bad decision because if you'd have gone a couple of weeks later instead, for your own health at least, you would've been in a very different situation. With regard to others health so knows, as the data isn't fully in on a vaccinated persons ability to pass it on. You made a mistake. But hopefully you'll get away with it. Now go and enjoy your holiday rather than moaning on here .
