I really don't square how some on here are happy with the gesture being booed, yet can happily sit and watch Palace play. We had 7 black players in our starting line up on Sunday. Wilf has published a few times examples of some of the racist abuse he has to put up with.
Then you haven't been reading people's posts. I know that in your adept mind it's all about racism. So as you say you just don't understand how they can support a team with black players in it. Doesn't compute for you does it.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

But again, times change. Players now have platforms. They are seen by millions and millions of people all over the world. They are role models who kids aspire to be. Why should they just be pawns for your entertainment just because they happen to be well paid compared to you? I really don't square how some on here are happy with the gesture being booed, yet can happily sit and watch Palace play. We had 7 black players in our starting line up on Sunday. Wilf has published a few times examples of some of the racist abuse he has to put up with. If this is a gesture that our players want to make, surely you should support that? Wonder how many on here would be brave enough to stand up in front of a room of our players and explain why they would boo it. Edited by DanH (08 Dec 2020 9.59am) I would have no problem explaining to anyone why booing is the only way fans can vent their spleen over something they don’t agree with. It’s not like sending an email or posting on facebook is going to make a difference. The players may well feel that the gesture they make has no political connotations, however it would appear that many of the supporters do. Surely you are not so simple in your view that you think fans are booing because they see it as an easy way to be directly racist? Thankfully I just don’t believe you can get mass support for such a thing any more. As others have said let’s see a group photo of both teams shoulder to shoulder around a large boot it out banner before every match and get rid of this divisive gesture they are currently using.

Edited by DanH (08 Dec 2020 9.59am) How many on here have said they would boo it? The concensus appears to be a different gesture would be more appropriate but this obviously doesn’t suit your thinking, that posters on here are a bunch of racists. Surprised you would want to be associated with such a club Edited by Spiderman (08 Dec 2020 10.40am)

Edited by DanH (08 Dec 2020 9.59am) I don't know anyone who thinks racism is a good idea. I was over the moon that we scored 5 against WBA and that our greatest ever player is black doesn't bother me in the slightest. Booing BLM and the corporate hypocrisy of the PL and SKY and the BBC is not racist in my opinion. However we cannot know the motives for each person who booed and anyone who claims to know is a liar. Or as Elizabeth I said. "I would not open windows into men's souls."

Nah, but I take some comfort in knowing he’d think you were a w*nker. You really have exposed your simplicity on this thread. So we now have to agree with a footballer because he plays for our team? I might have to stop responding to your posts. It's like arguing with a 10 year old. However, I did notice that you are smart enough to ignore posts that you can't dispute.

Not true it is making no difference. There is a renewed push on diversity and inclusion from employers. Senior black candidates are in particular demand and are in short supply. Why's that, do you think?

The BBS is something to behold. Apart from 2-3 posters that posted this morning, they’re completely the opposite and would hold DanH aloft as some child or fluffy toy mascot. One in particular excused all of the incidents and actions in the protests and riots. Absolutely all of it. It was completely fine with him. But booing the kneeling linked to BLM is completely unacceptable. What they also do is let out in their posts their politics and the politics they’ve been influenced, if you didn’t already know, but this apparently isn’t political at all. Are most clubs split like this or they a unique type of spaffwomble? Actually Stirling posted the country’s polled opinion on taking the knee split by working class and middle class I think it was.

Yep and those figures were at the start of the kneeling process and also included women....who while being wonderful comprise a minority of football going fans. It would be interesting to see a current poll that only included ticket holders. Strange that the 'one nation conservative' isn't over on the bbs complaining how it's a far left website.
