He has missed an absolute sitter by taking a touch when it was totally unnecessary and then scuffing the shot. Ugh it’s painful to watch. I am sorry but this bloke is not good enough and needs to go out on loan to a lower league to have any hope of being a success in one of the best leagues in the world.

Let me speak slowly , if you read my post you will see that I am not comparing Sorloth to Slah in terms of ability, I am making the point that it is not possible to judge whether a player will be up to a task until he has had sufficient game time and starts. Originally posted by Dannyh.V2

The last three seasons before Salah joined Liverpool he was on loan at Fiorentina and Roma in Serie A, renowned for its tough defences, Roma eventually signed him for 15 million after scoring 15 and 16 goals in respective seasons. He also has banged in 39 Goals in 60 odd international appearances for Egypt. Sorloth on the other hand, his last two clubs were FC Groningen playing 38 times and scoring 5, yes it was in the Eredivise but still a poor return, most notably he was moved on to some tin pot team in Denmark (FC Midtjylland ) where having clearly gone to a league of a much lesser standard, he doubled his prolific record from 5 to 10 goals in 19 goals, Impressive if it wasn't for the fact the league is utterly rubbish. What that tells me is, he may be a decent league one striker or Championship at a push, but to compare him to Mo Salah is ludicrous, as is insinuating he is a better player than Benteke. Pearls of wisdom my arse.

I have already mentioned in another thread that you seem to have a very aggressive posting style and wondered whether you may find life more to your liking at the other Palace forum where they often encourage such things

I certainly have reservations of Sorloth but theres many factors to this situation. He definitely is suffering from lack of confidence, you can see that from his finishing. BUT.. He even said himself upon signing that he wasnt expecting to get too much game time but the injury situation had presented an opportunity for him. So why an earth would we buy him at that particular time when we were crying out for goals in the team (sounds familiar) and for the reported fee. I mean someone needs shooting in recruitment and whoever signed it off! Does not make sense. Now Sorloth is paying the price being thrusted into first team expectations when he does not look ready yet. But what else can we do? We literally have no other alternatives and the ones that we do have are equally as bad. All we can do is pray that Benteke has a second coming.
