Would be a great signing but i think it'll be too much of a bun-fight as there are son many other clubs after him. 15m would represent another gamble According to the agent Paul Smith, pretty much no one is after Austin. The only firm bid/expression of interest has come from Norwich and all the noise is an agents attempt to drum up interest as QPR would like to cash in, but are finding there's not much of a market. Teams are very aware of the negatives; only one season of achievement in the Premier League, serious injury in the past, fairly limited footballing and physical attributes beyond the goalscoring itself. He's not going to go for anything like 15 million and quite possibly, 8m + Mariappa and Guediora (for instance) would get it done one reality dawns on QPR.

Yes they did which is why Paul Smith's comments simply don't add up. I am not necessarily saying I think Austin is worth the money. But there clearly has been interest at the mark QPR are looking for - and beyond just Norwich. Edited by OknotOK (14 Jul 2015 11.26am)

Edited by OknotOK (14 Jul 2015 11.26am) I have been told the 'rejected bid' from Leicester was all fabrication too. QPR wont deny it as they are looking for as much money for him as possible (hell, it might have even been them that made up the story). Leicester may have kept silent even though it isn't true as it keeps their rival guessing and keeps their supporters thinking they are ambitious.

Edited by OknotOK (14 Jul 2015 11.26am) Personally, I would trust someone who's directly involved in the transfer market over a journalist looking to fill column inches but up to you who you believe. Actually, Smith's comments DO add up. Fact is, for a player mooted to be at the top of a lot of teams "most wanted" lists, there has been virtually nothing happening with regard to an Austin transfer.

Where did that one come from?

15M is a risk for Austin - whilst I think he is a bit of a GM type who is a finisher at any level the question mark is whether he's a one season wonder or not (AJ anyone ??) or a better all round player than Remy. For the money we seem prepared to pay Remy is by far the 'safer' bet (and possibly is the player better and suited to how we play ???) as he has proved that he can consistently hit the net at this level Edited by The Sash (17 Jul 2015 9.40am)
