He's not won anything. May will do a deal with the democratic unionists in NI and that will be that. Granted she lead a s*** campaign, and almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, but the deal will be done, and in essence, certainly in political bent, we shall have a Tory government. So nothing really to crow about.

To be fair to him he's got the young out voting and engaged with people. I can't personally see why anyone would vote for him but half the country can so that's that! May was a bit like palace last season. Started well then got complacent and limped over the line!

Given that he was 'the death of the labour party' and the astonishing beating that was handed out at the local elections, its hard not to see this as a major success for the Conservatives. Yes, the Conservatives could do a deal with the Democratic unionists, and that might very well result with Sinn Fein deciding to act in parliament.

Nothing to crow about but they made inroads in places they weren't expected to. Even Jack straw was pulled on it circa 1am this morning by Dimbleby as he predicted Labour would be wiped out with Corbyn at the helm. Canterbury is one example held by the conservatives since world war 1 recently with a 10,000+ majority and now sits in the hands of Labour. A hung parliament so soon after the last one suggests people are unsure who to vote for to a certain extent. It also suggests to me that Corbyn holds all the aces here going forward in opposition. IF and it's a bloody big If, but if he can get the right people in and run a tight ship then I believe the tide could turn back in the favour of Labour in 5 years time when we go back to the polls. Begs the question what on earth went wrong in the conservative camp for this to happen when you had a car crash of a party as your opposition. Why she ever called the election in the first place. I get the sting and stable stuff but I wonder whether it was a bit of a vanity project on her part. Wanted a landslide and put her stamp on things and it's backfired a bit. I always said the eu would be her undoing same as it ultimately was for Thatcher. Plain as day why David Cameron got out of the way sharpish when he knew we were leaving. IF she was to resign which I don't believe she will and I also feel would plunge the country into further chaos David Davis would be imo the man to lead the country and take us through the brexit process the best. Finally, the comparisons made between May and Thatcher hasn't helped her especially with young voters. A bit of a sweeping generalisation I know, but the young (myself included) know about Thatcher by and large from what other people tell or what the main stream media present to us. To most of the young she is viewed as the devil incarnate and MOST older generations liked her and what she stood for , even if they didn't like her politics. Comparing May to her hasn't helped her image at all.

Jeremy has the ability to sit down with people of different opinion and now he has shown what an effective leader he is. He would be an excellent PM in my opinion. Will take another election people are coming round to him it was just a big step for them.

Did not win its not going to happen. Labour are acting like they have actually taken government. Its just created a mess that will delay brexit a bit futher. It also shows every politician up as being clueless and embarrassing, run the country, not one of them are fit to run a bath.

It won't delay it though as the clock is ticking and we have to be out by a set date . I say it again.. Cameron knew we were sailing into choppy waters the moment it was announced we were leaving. He got out at the right time without being dragged into this mess. Europe will be the undoing of Theresa May the same as it was with Thatcher ultimately. A Lot can happen in 5 years but I feel Labour are in a decent position if they play this right to make inroads next time around. Much will hinge on how both parties conduct themselves and what deal we come away with

Never going to happen as well you know. The political map in Northern Ireland has changed since Mrs Thatchers time. Sinn Fein are neck and neck with the DUP who will rush into supporting Mrs May without any elections.
