This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I'm not sure but I assumed last years contract was an extension to an already decent contract plus a higher wage, I'd expect it was signed on the understanding Wilf wanted a better opportunity at a much higher rated club, so, should a high enough bid be made he'd be off. Problem is, none of us know what SP might have agreed to subject to Wilf extending, was it only to a top 6 club or abroad ? the fact he came out stating he wanted CL football, then the boyhood dream of Arsenal is OK but then I'm not seeing how he's now throwing a strop over the Everton knock backs, if Arsenal had bid 70/75m I reckon we'd have accepted it but Everton !!! not seeing progress enough to justify a move there, plus I'm sure he said he wanted to stay in London as his Dad had been ill.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Really don't get why Wilf wants to go to Everton. They are not in the champions league, which is where he says he wants to play, and with a new stadium on the horizon they won't have any money. Good chance they'll sit 8th or so for several years. If he is so determined to get to merseyside let him go but get the £80m don't settle for less.

having said that, he apparently doesn't want to move out of London, wants to play Champions League footie...so why WOULD it be Everton? I still think Chelseas will strike a deal with us...player plus cash on the proviso he comes across once their ban is lifted. Edited by Lyons550 (07 Aug 2019 4.53pm)

Absolutely sick and tired of it all now! Let him go and let’s see what he’s really made of!! He’s already left once and came back with his tail welland truly between his legs. Maybe fake news but I want to see 11 players representing our club on Saturday that are right up for playing for the badge. Not 10 and one petulant little child that has spat his dummy out! Let’s be honest Wilf has been more than looked after whilst at Palace! We owe him nothing in my eyes! COYP Well said we will be fine without him.

Talk s***e and SSN are linked at the hip. Don't read too much into this. Leicester survived after Mahrez, if we are offered what we want, let him go. Greed runs this game we love. He's a big fish in our small pond. Good luck watching your hub caps Wilf. They survived because they already bought Demari Gray (another signing we dithered on) who already had some game time under his belt by the time Mahrez left...we have??? Jordan Ayew!!!

If they offer £200,000 pw ,in the present climate he has to go. He is a commodity , nothing else. These people are being offered enough money to sell their souls. And they often do.

If it is true that he has handed in a transfer request then I am not convinced it will be Everton. Iv a feeling there is another club about to make their move.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle By this time tomorrow my prediction is Wilf gone for cash £70m. Tosun and Mccarthy are Palace as is Camarasa and obviously Cahill.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If the "transfer request" is true, would it not usually be confirmed by the club and/or player? A lot of people on here seem to judge SS as dodgy, yet loads also draw conclusion based on an apparently single, untrustworthy source.

Sell him now, take the money and get his wages off the books ... You obviously like watching Championship football. To stay in the PL you need to invest. I thought we had ambitions beyond being a yo yo team.

If the "transfer request" is true, would it not usually be confirmed by the club and/or player? Neither Palace nor Zaha seem to have been confirming anything recently
