Excellent throughout. Yes I’m now agreeing, as I said I would. hard times create strong men. strong men create good times. good times create weak men. and, weak men create hard times. If you aren’t or don’t have vulnerable people at home and you’ll have a shielding letter anyway, then you should get on with it. Loads have already had to. Cutting furlough to 50% would get people wanting to work.

That’s alright then! French passengers or passengers from France? There is a huge difference. Passengers from all over the Wiccan transit in France en route to the U.K. They arrive as passengers from France but are not French!

If you or your close family want to take risks with each other then that is your prerogative. I read the be alert message as individual responsibility. That is something that too many in this country don’t want to have. While people object to this or that everyone’s future and future health will be going down the toilet. Keep the vulnerable isolated and slowly get back to normal or risk a far worse situation if not. It has been mentioned by many that the cases and R rate are a problem in care homes and hospitals now and not in the community anyway.

My objection is that, we are being responsible by abiding by the advice but those coming from France and elsewhere through France are free to enter and travel around at will.

Yes I see but it still comes down to individual responsibility, or looking after yourself and your own. And it’s not only the government who should answer on that one so that’s the case anyway.

Keeping the boarders open letting the French in, mixed Government messages, soon be another wave .Think the public are losing faith in the Government advice and statistics.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

There’s a lot of searching for mixed messages and any that are found will probably be addressed in the next couple of days. People aren’t expected to try to work until Wednesday. I agree on the French border issue but not so much on saying why can they do that when I can’t do this or that. Just don’t do whatever it is you’re questioning in your own life if you don’t need to. Unless you or a household member is vulnerable and you have to go into tight spaces of people then the inevitable always was going to be that you’ll have to get out or the future is a very very bad one.

That's not how the furlough scheme is supposed to work as the employer is supposed to pay you the full wage or salary and the government re-imburses the employer with 80% of the wage

If we’re waiting for a vaccine then life is going to be truly s*** for many for many many years. But they might just get their wish. Obviously this doesn’t apply to some public sector jobs tucked away, and some of them are very vocal. The CBI etc for example, wanting clear instructions on what companies need to do. The government would need to provide instructions for every different company location.

It does make you wonder that the Thursday clap is there to participate in but once you’re required to go out and take a risk or make a decision then it’s not for you. Just about sums this country up.
