Todays extra download is a recent set by Lou Reed & Metallica that was recorded in Cologne, Germany on the 11th of this month. This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from an FM broadcast on 1LIVE radio. Apparently Lou received death threats after this show but in typical Lou Reed wit he shrugged it off saying "They are threatening to shoot me - and that's because I showed up... they haven't even heard the album yet!". I don't know what to make of this one - I don't know if I like it or not... is it the last throw of the dice for both LR and Metallica? - it's certainly different - try it!... I had the dreadful misfortune on seeing some of their performance live on Jools last week and it was bloody awful!! I will download this to see it if it is any better but Lou looked, and sounded, as if he was about to die

Todays first download is a set by Jefferson Starship that was recorded at the Merriweather Post Pavillion, in Columbia. Maryland in 1981. This is in superb quality and the audio has been taken from an FM broadcast of the show and sounds great. Todays second download is a set by Yes which was recorded in Wallingford, Connecticutt in 2002. During this tour they were performing with Porcupine Tree - and the final 5 tracks on the boot are by them. The sound is great on this one - its a soundboard thats been edited together with an audience recording of the show - its like being there. All the instruments and vocals are well up in the mix and this is wicked. I've lost count of the number of Yes boots I've posted - but I've not posted that many by PT... This is an excellent show thats thoroughy recommended... Todays extra download isnt a bootleg but it is a live album. This is Deep Purple - Live in Montreux 2011. This show features DP with an orchestra - something they tried once before in their early years as a band - it didnt quite work then - but this is a much better performance. They play a great set which features tracks from the bands entire history - a top show, thoroughly recommended.
