Roy's latest break out about Olise's injury shows just how far he has de coupled from the modern game. He feels zero responsibility his poor game management has caused to our players injury problems. Frankly this is totally unacceptable management and should not be ignored by our board. Edited by dreamwaverider (04 Jan 2024 8.44am) Edited by dreamwaverider (04 Jan 2024 8.45am)

My point is that Roy is out of touch with modern injuries. These young forwards are very highly tuned athletes. When you get a hamstring that needs surgical repair as with Olise injury playing for France, it is crucial that the rehab is closely overseen by trained medical experts (which we have on the payroll). To ignore their instructions, and Roy was regularly warned of this, is a dereliction of duty that beggars belief. We should have thanked our lucky stars when he slid the ball in for goal three and promptly hauled him off.

The reluctance to take any blame whatsoever for the situation is yet another post match interview faux pas this season. I’d of had a lot more respect for him if he came out and apologised to Olise for not taking him off given we had a two goal lead, (regardless of whether Olise wanted to carry on). He is the manager and is responsible for their wellbeing even if it annoys them.

With Cooper being strongly linked with the now vacant Brum job it's a real litmus test to see if, or how seriously Palace want Cooper to succeed Roy. I don't think Brum will hang around with a new appointment so the Palace hierarchy will have to make a decision or lose the window of opportunity. Let him go to Brum and good luck to him. He is in my opinion better suited to the Championship. I'm sure there will be a few idiots on here that (if he were to do well with Brum in the Championship) will say we missed a big opportunity back in January but there is a chasm of difference between getting a tune out of a big team in the Championship as opposed to trying to stay competitive against behemoths in the top division.

No lose argument using that thinking. If he does well he’s not good enough for the PL because it’s harder than the Championship and if he doesn’t do well then we dodged a bullet. It’s a bit harsh on him, but I agree in so far as he wouldn’t be my first choice.

Roy said in the post match interview that himself, the sports science guy, the fitness team, the physio AND Olise himself agreed he needs to start playing 90 minutes if he is ever going to reach maximum sharpness and match fitness. Personally I dont even think he has much of an injury and Roy just wants an excuse to rest him for the FA cup game. I'm betting he'll be back again when league action resumes.

Palace is a mid table established top division club. For someone who I'm guessing sees himself as a Palace fan/supporter you seem to have a low opinion of the club and its outside image.

Are you Roy in disguise looking for a yellow card? Or even red? Edited by dreamwaverider (04 Jan 2024 5.30pm)
