Best hope now is that City come in with a bid to push the price up. Olise would surely prefer to play for Pep than Poch and in the Champions League next year. Wouldn’t begrudge him that if we got a fair value for him.

Not sure if higher offers would stop him going to Chelsea, but it would be interesting if they did come in. It all seems a bit cosy for Chelsea, has from the moment the rumours started. The question being do Palace have to sell to the first and lowest bid? Maybe someone here knows.

The club site still shows him proudly wearing our shirts.

Funnily enough, the BBC football home page shows him in a match wearing this seasons home shirt, seeing as he was injured before last season had ended.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I can’t blame the player for wanting to try and make his name, but this reminds me of so many situations with former players. Will he become the next Bostock? At least we get a fair (though not outrageously large) fee for him than peanuts we have had in other times. I’m more irritated by the greed of the big clubs. Olise is a great player for CPFC, but he is still far from the finished article, so he is therefore not a great player (right now) for Chelsea. Wilf couldn’t cut it at MUN, Olise is not as far along in his development as Wilf was. He might be part of their squad, but he will get limited first team playing time. I hope he is happy counting all those $$$ while he sits warming the bench. Best thing would be for Chelsea to loan him back for a season, so can get some more games under his belt. He is an exciting young player, so I hope he doesn’t get disillusioned by the lack of games. But that is Chelsea problem now, we can’t keep him, he’s made his bed, so as much as I think he is a great player, I sort of hope he crashes and burns at Chelsea as a warning to other young players and the vultures who surround them.

Whoever comes in needs to be an established player, so we won’t get much change from the funds received for Olise. A lot now rests on Eze’s shoulders.

Aside from the fee, I feel saddened to think he will go to Chelsea.

Under the right coach at a more considered club, he can be a great of the game. The heir to de Bruyne no less.

But whatever he does, I do think his body may struggle to withstand the rigours of Premier League football. That is the true question.

I hope not. I don't resent him. He and his agent are probably collecting a fortune. Intelligent from them and entirely their prerogative. Why any player goes for £100m baffles me. They must be a bit thick.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

When we bought Olise for £8m I remember the release clause set at £35m thinking well if we ever get that it will be good business.
Two years on, with the Middle East investing heavily in football, transfer fees have shot up and suddenly £35m is a joke.
Benefit of hindsight. I certainly can't blame the club for this. Who would ever have thought the Saudis would kick in as they have.

The worst bit is, we have lost two of our most exciting players so we will struggle to get the same entertainment.
Look at Haaland, he had a release clause in Germany of £50m.n
Some smart agents out there sussed this out a few years back.

So we will get £35m whoever buys him. If Man City come on strong, Olise is going to be a very rich young lad sadly not us.

Part of me thinks this is Chelsea business plan, buy up all the young talent on long contracts, loan out half of them around Europe and prem and hope that transfer inflation keeps going mad and you make money selling them on.

I think it’s safe to conclude Ambrose or his inside source were talking a load of rubbish or the club want to sell him, it’s 1 or the other.

My problem with this whole scenario is that Olise will/would not be an automatic starter for either Chelsea or City - whereas at Palace he would be…!!

So this is just the self acclaimed/most financed elite hoovering up potential talent - irrespective of their requirements in terms of their first XI - so to the detriment of the players development..!!

As I’ve mentioned before IMO MO has always struck me as being “moody” and “unhappy” with he’s lot - let’s see how he gets on with being continual “bench warmer” and a much smaller fish in a much bigger pond..!!

If that’s what you want MO - then crack on - meantime we’ll be fine - and look forward to playing against you - with your replacement in the starting XI - whilst you sit on the bench - hoping you may get the last 10 mins

I can't see him being a starter, coming on as a sub can be hard too.. I feel it won't work out... but who knows..
personally, stay at palace two more years and have the pick of any club begging for him (providing he continues at the rate he has been)

Chelsea seem to be a team that play 3 at the back with wing backs giving the the width, dont know where Olise fits in
