a 'question mark' is better than a dud. Big Sam can have Benteke for 10 million. fair enough. Pardew was mad to sell muzza and jedinak.

the arrogance of benteke on that tv interview was the last straw. sell sell sell

We would be mad to sell him. Can’t believe that anyone is even thinking about it. We are in a relegation fight, and Benteke has a record for helping keep poor teams in the top division.

Roy is no mug, he will have a plan for the window and, I hope that the partnership between Parish and Hodgson will get us some key people in over the early weeks of January.

The number of scapegoats over the last few months have been dreadful, but it is the squad that is too brittle, we don’t have a full squad and there are too many squad members who are not able to do a job in the first team. We need three or four decent additions who are actually going to add something, and to relieve the pressure on the rest.

Anyone who thinks that selling Benteke for £15 million is going to solve anything really needs to think again.

The clowns who support players who play for Palace? I'd rather be a fan who supports the people who pull on a Palace shirt, than a fan who insults other fans for showing the audacity to support a Palace player who is out of form.

A 1 in 3 PL striker who has had a direct hand in (I think) 6 of our last 8 goals. Keep the faith

Happy to be a keep him clown.

I wonder how many of the people baying to get him sold for £10 million were champing at the bit to buy him for £30 million.

Wouldn’t selling him for a £20 million loss impact our ability to buy, given how the writing down of players as an asset works.

You do know that these guys go through media training don’t you? They say what they are told.

You could argue that his answer killed the debate about the penalty against Bournemouth stone dead, leaving nothing but our great performance against Leicester to fill column inches.

I kinda get that feeling with him. Little bit torn with him. I want him to do well, I just don't think he will consistently do it to a high enough level for us. Also wasn't too enamoured with his finger in the ears celebration on Saturday. You've got one goal mate, bit too early to be given it back to us.

Any of the bottom ten teams would want Benteke.

If we did not have him , we would be excited at the prospect of buying him in January.

If we sold him for what we bought him for we would not get anyone better.

Since he has returned from injury , ok he has missed some sitters, but has been involved in the lead up to a fair few of the goals we have scored and is improving and is as likely to get 10-15 goals in the rest of the season as anyone we may buy.

Mad to sell him.

We have to keep him, simple as that, he’s having a bad season definatly, but recent performances (bar the pen debacle) show that he’s getting his movement back, not looking so lazy has he has been for a while, plus he is class and for a practical point of view, we don’t have the money to go get two half decent strikers once we have sold him.

Like Ive said before about Benteke, I don't know what is going on in his head, but against Leicester, he turned up. I wouldn't say he played a blinder, but he played really well and performed as a team player. If he keeps this up after Swansea, he is worth £30M all day long.
We would be insane to sell him in January.
My guess is he will score 10+ goals this season. On form the guy is international quality. I believe he has found his way back and will continue to improve.
Most posters here want him gone. See sense in holding off till the summer.
I believe the old Benteke is back.

That's a 1 goal in two games ratio. Hope you are right.

He scored circa 15 premier league goals for us last year.....for palace in the premier league, that is frequent. It’s also more frequent than Niasse and a guy from the Turkish league who doesn’t have any premier league experience. It doesn’t matter if we looked better without him, we’ve picked up more points since he has been back in the team. What happened last week was a shocker and shouldn’t have happened but it would be a foolish gamble to sell Benteke in January.

Well said. Benteke is our only fit striker who has had a hand in three of our last seven goals. We are not going to get a replacement proven Premier quality striker like him in the January window. The best we are going to get is back up. I share everyone's frustrations with Benteke but he has shown a marked improvement in recent games, missed penalty excepted. We should calm down and be patient with him.
