Shouldn't it be 'da house'?

Not sure you can just throw that in the garbage, you probably need to go through some sort disposal procedure, like with asbestos.

Yep. It has a half-life of 2400 years.

Though he was mugged for his rhinestones there.

Wasn't Lightning Rod a respected blues singer?

If he wasn't, he should have been.

Well, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it but personally I don't go with the idea that Elvis or the BBC were ignorant. They just saw these aspects differently to you.

Elvis for example sang, 'If I can dream' which pretty much shows that he was very much aware.

I don't think the BBC have ever been ignorant...even when they had the black and white show...I can just about remember it...elitist for certain....liberal, for certain.....a giant pain in the arse sure... but not ignorant.....These were different times with different perspectives. I'm closer to theirs than yours.

Of course this was a different time. You were the one who brought up Elvis' choice of material, I pointed out that it was from 1972 when things were different, after which you countered to me that times were different and that you somehow side with the BBC even though they're liberal elitists while running a black-face song and dance show.

I have whiplash from reading your response.

Well, this is what I responded to:

'Elvis recorded that in 1972. The BBC last aired an episode of the Black and White Minstrel Show in 1978. Just because more people were ignorant (dictionary definition - not pejorative) of such racism at the time doesn't make it ok now.'

You used the word 'ignorant', your poor choice of word not mine and my response was in countenance to that....and pretty much proves that Elvis wasn't ignorant.

The black-face show had a long history. I don't know if there was bad intent or not. I barely remember it, though it looks bad. Black people have been 'whitening up' all the time...never had a problem with it myself but that is my perspective.

Accuracy helps with credibility.

I do think Neil Young is a bit of a self righteous knob sometimes but he has done some great stuff.

Living With War is a great anti Bush album and a great album.
