It's not that I mind honest bigots. At least they are sincere. That Petaliator chap, for example.

Christian extremists - the thread title and subsequent posts you are referring to - are homophobes. It's in their mission statement. Or do you want to take a different view on that too?

Where did I say extremists? I said Christians. Read things properly.

Yes, I know. I choose to ignore the bits where you make up things in order to accuse these days. You do it quite often if you weren't aware.

You know - 'No back-up facts', 'all Christians are'......etc, etc, etc.

You opt to ignore any facts presented which are contrary to your dubious beliefs and then decide to lie about what I wrote some time ago to entrench yourself even further.

Now that really is, in this context, the definition of pathetic.

I opt to ignore your patronising bulls***. Just because you think something is right, don't make it so and that is something you can't grasp.

You accuse me of being bigoted and ignorant and yet there is stacks of evidence that you despise Christians, Jews and Israelis of all hues, anyone voting Tory or, heaven forbid, UKIP is automatically a racist in Kermit World and your branding of anyone who has the temerity to question you is automatically broad brushed as 'ignorant'. That behaviour of automatically labelling people is prejudice. And you are full of it and projecting your inner failings on to me as a way of trying to deal with it.

If you say so, my delusional paranoid dumpling.

Link? Source? Evidence? Quote?

Inner failings? Have you seen a gp about these Kerm?

No denial, just a deflection. Another insult as well. This time I'm paranoid to go with everything else you have slung at me.

You are a deluded, patronising and prejudiced soul and need to address this. Chucking insults at me in a lazy fashion isn't going to fix this.

I saw the headline, read no replies, but here's my take.
ISIS are a product of the West taking the p-ss and manipulating the Middle East for many years. ISIS behead someone and it's front page news! Saudi behead MANY MORE EVERY BLOODY MONTH THAN ISIS WILL DO IN THEIR LIFETIME but you have to search the web to find this information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why, because Saudi is our friend......cough cough! (Keep up BBC, that's if you want to?)
The apparent 'terrorist threat from ISIS' is boll-cks. The only threat we face is from our own Govt starting 'fake wars' and the BS they constantly bloody dish out..........aaaaaaaand the majority swallow it. Hey ho.

I can't compete with the upper echelons of the society that rule our lives and I'm really not bothered tbh. What will be will be.

They burnt their passports they are stateless as far as I am concerned.

Anyone who thinks they are coming back because of a change of heart is a fool, the fight is going south & they've s*** their pants & want a way out.

We cannot allow these people to come back here & risk them being a catalyst to other impressionable sky fairy believers.

I'm happy for them to come back, be picked up by the security services etc and interogated, prosecuted and then spend the next 20-30 odd years in prison for terror offences.

Obviously its important to get the ones who went and joined ISIS, rather than those who may have been in Syria for more humanitarian reasons etc.

Sorry to hear about your Mum.

As far as I am aware Treason legislation is still on the books.

It may be a urban myth that it is and if so, why not use that where applicable, although I think since the severest penalty is now life imprisonment, not sure.

If so we could deal with all returning jihadists and all catholic priests in one swoop (that is still treasonable).

Since 1998,the maximum sentence is life imprisonment.

The offence technically includes such activities as committing adultery with the eldest unmarried daughter of the monarch or with the wife of the heir to the throne (not sure if that means the sex is ok if its adultery with the spouse of a female heir to the throne!). There is nothing to stop a civilian being convicted, ie Lord Haw Haw, the last person put to death for treason (though they overlooked the technicality that he was an Irish not British citizen, so no allegiance due to the Crown).

Also "giving aid or comfort" to the Monarch's enemies. In the past, treason has included counterfeiting money and being a Catholic priest.

In terms of saying people shouldn't be allowed back in the country, the law allows prosecution here, if appropriate, for involvement in "terrorism" overseas. Under international law, you cannot refuse re-entry, as others have said, to those only holding a British passport. In the bigger picture, its not an attractive proposition for us to go around flouting it, since where would it end once we say we're not bound by it, and adherence (most of the time) is what distinguishes us from some societies we criticise...

there is an interesting trial scheduled for next month of Moazzam Begg, who is a British former Guantanamo prisoner. He is charged with aiding terrorism in Syria and I would not be surprised if his defence argument is that he was only in Syria helping give aid...

ps. Jamie, I'm also sorry to hear about your mum.

I take your point re Saudi and yes ISIS plainly results in part from the games played by the western powers in the Middle East since the First World War.

But that's historical cause which is not automatically the same as present and future effect.

Where I digress, is I do not dismiss ISIS as a clear and present problem of significant potential proportions, and with clear and present not completely unrelated issues arising here.

I do. You're presuming that a gang of thugs present a realistic danger to Western civilisation. Really????

This whole scenario is once again manufactured by the West to keep us, the public, 'looking over our shoulder'. Why? Because the 'elite' need something to hold over the majority to keep us in check. It's a crock bud so sleep tight.

What I said was that there were clear and present issues re ISIS in the Middle East.

What I also said was that there were clear and present not wholly unconnected issues arising here. I did not suggest ISIS attacks on the UK etc.

Nothing as OTT as danger to western civilisation. Hope I am allowed to have concerns over various things even though they are not clear and present dangers to western civilisation!

I know where you are coming from. I also know someone who was injured in the London bus/tube bombings...I also know a lot I cannot write about which is relevant from my job, and which I know to be true.

Of course the "war on terror" was concocted...but that doesn't mean there weren't issues then and now of concern here and in the world.

Falling for the big conspiracy theory that its solely the elite manipulating everything (though that does not mean there is not some substance to it, of course there is) is, IMHO, as unreliable as taking the other extreme's war on terror conspiracy as gospel.

I'll happily stick to 'the big conspiracy theory' bud as I can't see any other LOGICAL reason for the sh-t that's going on.
Who knows which one of us is right?

The thing about conspiracy theories of whatever hue is they seek to provide a logical explanation for everything...often its perhaps the opposite, pure c.ck ups and pure mayhem..

But, like you say, at the end of the day, who really knows?
