Let's be honest here...qpr are a bigger draw than us.

New stadium coming, owners who will spend decent money on signings & wages.

If we're being completely honest they have as much chance of staying up this season as we do.

I love palace to bits but sometimes we have to take off the tinted specs, and look at things with a rational POV

I thought i read somewhere that QPR were in the mire with an 80 million debt, perhaps i was dreaming it...

But what does any footballer care about a club having £80 million debt? As long as the club pays him what he wants.

I love the way we do things and the way our club is run, but it also means we will lose out in signing certain players - but at least we will always know that when players do arrive, it's because they want to play for Palace and not for x amount of money. That sits much better with me than some greedy over rated Premiership player arriving to just count the cash.

Very true. We can't compete financially with most in this league in anycase. Look at the transfers recently. WBA, Sunderland, West Ham have all bought players in the £10-14 million range. However we have much more than a large wallet around the club as we all know. Based on the last transfer window I think we will get the right quality of new players. Only fools rush in.

I'd like to think that a player, whilst obv wanted the best offer financially, wd also consider that having already got one prem relegation to their name, they wd sure as f*** want to avoid another the following season.

I don't understand the draw of playing alongside rio either. He was very good (tho over rated) about 3 years ago, his legs have since gone and playing alongside him wd mean doing the running for him.

I rate caulker and think signing him wd almost guarantee safety. Him and dann cd build a very strong partnership for the team to be built around for years.

QPR are 1 of my 3 to go down, along with Burnley and Southampton. If playing alongside Ferdinand for a year is going to do him good, i would be really surprised.

Ferdinand will do his usual trick of picking up an injury and go missing for 4 months, leaving Caulker very exposed, Harry's clutching at straws with this one...

He seems to be stalling on signing for QPR, obviously hanging about for a better offer?

Yep, I've said this all along. Caulker will not sign anywhere until Liverpool sign Lovren or whichever other centre back they're after and it is clear to him the big club door is closed. At that point, I suspect he will sit down and decide among the offers he does have on the table. And I really doubt QPR are far, if at all, ahead of us in that race. Which is all fair enough, really.

Reports say QPR and Southampton have had offers accepted, no mention of us anymore?

I think you're right. If the big club door closes then he might not rate Southampton (too many changes?), which leaves CP and QPR to fight it out. QPR are a bit of an unknown quantity and will have signed loadsa players who might not jell, or CP with a more settled squad and a superb defensive manager.

qpr will more than likely know what weve offered him and better it...which more than likely means he will sign for them.

and harry redknapp is a more fashionable manager, it shouldnt matter but probably will.

We also, in my view -- another Syd conspiracy theory coming up -- have another hidden advantage. If you were Caulker or any other young English player facing the Southampton-QPR-Palace decision, whose opinion/advice would you want? Woy, anyone? I mean, if you have international ambitions, wouldn't you want to ask the England manager whether going to one club or another would make a difference to your prospects? And as we all know, England are managed by a Croydon boy whose number 2 is an ex-Palace manager himself... Might not make a difference but damn sure it can't hurt!

Micah Richards is reportedly available for 7m. There are other options out there.
