I'll say it again. Gaza elected Hamas. Their manifesto is a document for continual war with ceasefires for tactical reasons. Gaza voted for this. I only have sympathy for those that didn't. No one.....let me repeat that, no one in the west or the middle east is going to get involved between Israel and Hamas. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Jul 2014 11.46am)

I doubt it would satisfy those, 'tens of thousands'. Just like how our population feels about Syria it would probably say.....See no evil, hear no evil.....Not listening. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Jul 2014 11.51am)

Don't Hamas deliberately place their missile launchers in residential areas (contravening the Geneva Convention)?

"The UN agency for Palestinian refugees is investigating the discovery of 20 rockets hidden in one of its vacant schools in the Gaza Strip. The UNRWA condemned the incident as a "flagrant violation" of international law, adding that the rockets had been removed and that the relevant parties had been informed."

What is it that, to my mind at least, makes Israel untouchable?

But, there have been criticisms on here of Israel for breaching international law as if they alone do it. It seems "both sides" do not abide. So, either we think all should be criticised if they breach it (which is one position people might adopt) or we think its purely a matter of right cause or wrong cause, and so long as its not the bad guys ignoring international law, then we are not bothered.

You are of course right that both sides are in the wrong. However I feel that Israel 'started it' (for want of a better phrase) with the illegal settlements.
