So in the transfer window, dougie will decide who we will sign?how can you be fully behind his transfer targets if were getting in a new manager, who will want to bring his own players in...

Hi Steve, a tough day all round but necessary actions taken.

if possible, I would like to know whether the directors were split over this decision and when the doubts over George's future started to surface?

Also, to second the question over the intended appointment future of the new manager (until the end of the season or long-term)

was it just the matchday you were not satisfied with or did it run to training aswell?

All directors are as one.

That's great To know Steve. Many thanks and good luck in the Managerial interviewing.

Up the Palace!

Hi Steve greetings from NZ 29degrees today, woke up to the shock news should no better after 60 years supporting the Eagles. Have been sitting here thinking who might make a good manager came up with Ray Wilkins. Never thought George was the answer what i have seen of the games on line the players fitness levels didnt look good enough to me, may be the reason for late goals? Good luck in the future,Dave.

Who said he will be bringing in players? All they said he was to manage the team for the Preston game on Monday.

He has already set up a shortlist and is working on it. What do you want him to do? Talk to managers behind his current manager's back? Seriously?!

This is exactly what a responsible chairman of any business would do. I'm afraid in the real world mitigating risk comes a long way before personal niceties.

But he has already said that had we won and played well today, Burley may not have been sacked. So he wouldn't have had a chance to do it before today, he can't approach a manager and say look, ours is having a rough time, can you be on stand by for a few months because it would get out into the press and destroy the dressing room. Equally, it's stupid to keep him in his position while 2010 talk to new managers, because when burley asks for money to spend on targets, Parish either has to back him or say he won't be here next week! Which would also hit the dressing room hard.

Don't you find this worrying? I have a staff (approximately the size of a football team in number) who report to me, and I cannot imagine I would fire any of them based on their performance on a single day or a single project. That decision would be based over a number of weeks of output, and it wouldn't be swayed by one good achievement on the day I'd already decided to fire them. Footballers are pragmatists, by the way. Whatever happens to the manager, the players just get on with it.

Not really, no. We've been in a cycle of getting somewhere, then havign a massive setback. The home performance was starting to get there, before we disappointingly failed to beat Hull. Then Forest was awful, but Ok, a blip. Played well at Bristol, could be the start of sorting the away form out, then today was probably the worst performance of the season, including Derby because we were at full strength, when you knew we weren't progressing.

I completely see your point, but football isn't based on weeks of work, it's 90 minutes here and there, and if you wait too long to know you're right, it's too late.

have it on reasonable authority that cardiff are signing Jon Parkin from preston with Bothroyd going to fulham. still very much doubt vaughan comin back here though, took a big pay cut in the first place
