This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle At the end of the day Wilf could submit a transfer request if he is that keen on leaving. I am sure the Everton owners would be able to compensate, somehow, for any bonuses he loses

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I can see a deal being agreed for Wilf today. A tactical low ball offer for Alex Iwobi, prior to an improved offer for our star man later on today. Anything North of £80 million plus Tosun and McCarthy coming to us will be too much for our board to turn down.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I think the media has twisted this whole saga to make it look like Wilf is desperate to leave. All this talk of him wanting Champions league football I believe is true but that does not mean he is desperate to leave. He may well want to play for Arsenal but I believe that he is happy to stay with us if it doesn’t work out. And this whole Everton saga, after all thats been said about Champions league football and staying in London, I believe that Everton were interested in him but he was not so interested in then

I just can't imagine that; had it been Arsenal who we had just turned down I would understand, but I don't believe he has any particularly burning desire to join Everton. Surely he has seen how Bolasie's career has gone too? They have a bit of money now to be sure but they only finished 5 pts ahead of us last season... not a huge step up!

Precisely, Everton spend mega fortunes each year and end up between the top 6 and mid-table. What would it be like up there for him, they are either at your feet or at your throat. Saturday afternoon will be quite an event - do your 'fuming' on the pitch Wilf!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilf can sulk all he likes but if his "team" had got a club to put in a decent offer early in the window it may well have gone ahead. Don't just blame Palace Wilf, blame your hangers-on. I can see that we will be relying on a player who may decide not to "turn u"p on match days

‘Indeed, the Eagles are even considering offering Zaha improved terms on his current contract, which runs until 2023, in a bid to appease the wantaway winger. Roy Hodgson is also considering another potential sweetener by offering him a more central role in his attack this season.’ Slightly concerned y how much we’ll be increasing Zaha’s wages, unless it’s because he knows Everton were prepared to pay him much much more and that’s possibly a problem and for 1 year of harmony it’ll be worth it I suppose. I hope we do not offer him a penny more. He knew when he signed his new contract a year ago that, we had bought out his buy out clause so he stayed with us till we got the offer we want. The suggestion that there was a gentlemans agreement to let him go is far fetched. We don't know if he wants to go. If he does put in transfer request lose bonuses that would have been honourable. also if he wanted to go why not come back straight after AFCON rather than sun himself? If Everton wanted him why transfer Ademola Lookman as we would probably have looked more favourably on a cash plus a replacement for Wilf. I hope that the above sweetener is journalistic licence, the fact that Wilf has had a free role is one of the potential causes of Bentekes goal drought. Big Ben thrives on attacking balls in the air and our wingers have not been doing so consistently. That is Why I feel Wickham if fit may be a better source of goals he has better all round play.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle The 'playing abroad' angle presumably means this will rumble on beyond Thursday as the 'abroad' window closes later than ours - a depressing prospect. As to Wilf 'not turning up' on Saturdays, he may have an initial sulk but failing to perform is hardly likely to attract bids next January or summer. If he wants out to a club willing to pay him £200,000+ he will have to play well. If Wilf is still with us in September, Palace should hold discreet talks with possible buyers (like Chelsea) and agree a deal in principle (and in private, though it would no doubt leak out) long before the season ends. And get a replacement lined up in the same timescale. That's what they should do but this is Palace ...
