Just when you think the collusion could not get any worse you read this. Words genuinely fail me. Thought I was hardened to all of this, almost cynical really but now...just shaking my head in disbelief and disgust.

Am not sure what point you are trying to make. The time of sun rise and set is determined more by latitude than longtitude, i.e how far from the equator. Sunsets at two points are relative to the rotation of the earth hence the same time can happen later at a point west as the earth spins counter clockwise. Or are you comparing Catford with Clapham?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

The institutions are riddled with these people and their ideology has enabled huge levels of suffering. We still await justice.

Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (28 Jul 2021 12.35pm) It's your attitude which is at the heart of the problem. I am not, never have and never will, apologise for criminals. All you, and your like, do is engage in a moanfest. We are where we are. How we got there can be studied to learn the mistakes, but it serves no other purpose at all. I hear next to nothing about what practical solutions are recommended, given all the constraints which exist. I at least try. In fact, my recommendations are pretty radical and go a great deal further than most others. For starters, I would ban all religious teaching in every school and ensure that no teaching of any kind is done in schools by religious ministers. I would ensure the history of all major religions is taught to all children, detailing the conflicts and the harm they do. I would emphasise that compassion, tolerance and understanding of others makes for a better society. That to apply across the board. No faiths given exemption. I would also ban homeschooling and insist that every child attend mainstream school, unless there are compelling reasons why they cannot. I would require religious centres to be licenced. Then I would ensure that recordings of every religious address be submitted to a review board. Failure to so would result in the withdrawal of the licence, and any address containing hate speech, or incentivisation to violence, would result in prosecution and jail if needed. Freedom of speech advocates would hate it, but I have long argued that unrestricted freedom of speech in a democracy is a myth. It has to be exercised by a matching responsibility.

Other than the power of a vote, the only other 'power' we have is to express our contempt for those that brought us to this position in the hope that better decisions will be made going forward. What would you have people do? Mass immigration has been a blight on our society, and it continues as we speak. This is not just about historical mistakes. It is ongoing. You are correct that a major change in how we deal with religion is required for starters. Just bear in mind that had politicians and people like you listened to 'moaners' like me, we would not be in this situation now.
