Unless Southampton surprise us all by going for someone completely different whereupon both will be clamouring for the Palace gig and SP will tell them to naff off as we don't want sloppy seconds

Roy Hodgson it is then

that's the thing, I think we have to accept the fact of where we are in the pecking order and that means sloppy seconds. We've all had to do it at different times in life, and in my experiences I can't say it's anything I regret massively, probably enjoyed at the time and didn't work out to badly. We all got what we wanted and needed in the end

Once again the same nonsense about Dyche!
There's plenty of pressure to influence our choice.
If we want to move forward we must leave behind the old solutions. We need to be ambitious in a positive away even if the new manager won't be english.
I'm ok with one of these Mauricio or Frank!

Most teams players aren't back for pre season for at least 13-18 days. Even if it takes another week to get a manager, he would still have a whole week to find his way around the club before working with the players.

The earliest is 29 June (Brighton) and latest 10 July (Man City). The majority return on either 3 or 5 July. Four have to yet announce a date, including us:

If dyche was Dycheo, and done what he's done at Burnley for a small Italian club, we'd be begging him to come.

He's worked miracles at Burnley, and deserves a chance with a bigger club, and yet people don't think he's good enough for palace.

Pellegrino had one good season in Spain. Fdb did well at ajax, but was a disaster in Italy, yet they're both seen as far superior to Dyche.

And people wonder why there are no English managers ag the top teams...

I think that applies to them all on that list!

Transfers in will go into the first 11.
E.g. Luka in Jimmy Mac out.

Are you getting some sort of kick out of repeating the same thing over and over ad nauseam? Try to understand the very simple concept that we don't just need to improve the first 11, we need to improve the squad. It's not that difficult and I'm beginning to think you're being deliberately obtuse.

Not wanting to be shot down and no idea if this has been mentioned! Saw someone mention on twitter that pellegrino is contracted at Alaves until end of June which actually holds up! [Link]
Maybe we have already tied this one up just can't announce until his contract is up and in the meantime we are getting transfer targets lined up from his brief! Who knows could announce a signing at the same time as manager given that timescale! Very wishful thinking 🤔 But who knows!

Pellegrino has already left the club and even if his contract officially expires at the end of June we could still announce him as our manager in waiting much as Manchester City did with Pep Guardiola

You've hit the nail on the head. I was listening to a discussion on Radio 5 Live last night, and he same point was made. It's almost accepted now that, almost by definition, only a foreigner can be up to the job of managing an English Pmemiership club. Rubbish!

That tired, worn out, moribund cliché. Dyche is just more of the same old. Nothing whatsoever to do with where he comes from (albeit I suspect it may be from Skaro). He's not the appointment to take us forward and, at best will manage to achieve 13th to 17th. He's wedded to a dinosauric 4-4-2, regardless of home or away, whatever the opposition or how the game is going. He won't make the best use of our wingers or Benteke; he'll try to jam them into his preferred narrow system with strikers running around like decapitated chickens. There's no chance whatsoever that players of even mediocre quality will be queueing round the block to play for him. For all those reasons I don't want him anywhere near Palace and fcuk all to do with which planet he comes from.

I think Dyche has worked wonders but it's at a settled club he knows and they play diabolical football. Not saying I don't like him or respect what he has done. Just don't think he is up to scratch and don't want to watch his crappy brand of football week in week out.
