Steve Parish can take as long as he likes. It's his (and the others) club and he's running it. The 'supporters' don't own a single penny of the club. They pay to watch a match and the product they are buying is viewing a match from a seat. After the match ends, the club owes that supporter absolutely nothing and the 'supporter's' investment is finished. That's the reality, not what many want to accept but that's it.

Customers(Supporters) are the life blood of any business and they have a right to expect the best and get what they pay for. True Palace fans are loyal having stuck with the club through the good and many bad times over the years. I doubt if SP who is a good businessman would subscribe to your viewpoint.

Most teams players aren't back for pre season for at least 13-18 days. Even if it takes another week to get a manager, he would still have a whole week to find his way around the club before working with the players.

Whilst I can see this, we have just released a few of the first team squad, who will need replacing. 4 weeks should have been long enough to make an appointment.

Well, they are effectively 'customers' as being a supporter would insinuate giving ones free time or money to 'support' the club. Nearly everyone doesn't do that, they pay for a service/product which is the right to watch a selected match.

With regards to the comment that there wouldn't be a club without supporters, logically yes. However in reality, all those watching the clubs matches right now wouldnt stop watching all at the same time and those that did stop would be replaced with others pretty quickly.

If you are a regular cinema goer, you not a cinema supporter, you're a customer. Same for a football club. The term 'supporter' is just that a term that's been used incorrectly for decades but that still doesn't remove the fact that those that pay to watch a match own zero of the club they're watching unless they own shares in that club, which we all know, nearly all do not.

Katrien Meire, Chief Exec of Charlton received a great deal of opprobrium by referring to supporters as "Customers" !

One can get into semantics but I feel that the word "Customer" doesn't do justice to those who have followed the club through the decades, spent hard earned money on their club and have the very 'Fabric' of the club embedded in their souls.Bit different to being a film buff !!!!!

Hardly worth replacing are they.
An injured REMY for ?
Transfers in will go into the first 11.
E.g. Luka in Jimmy Mac out.

Can't be arsed to trawl through the last few hours of posts but most media seem to be reporting Pellegrino is going to Saints, which leaves FDB for us? I guess that's the pecking order of the Prem. We can't compete with what Saints can offer in terms or money, infrastructure, facilities etc

Can't be much more work to do before one or both are offered contracts and announcements are made. Least then we can crack on with planning for next season.

Having a sh1t week at work so need some good news.

Given the nature of when the appointment was needed (2 days after the season finished), I disagree. Managers and Club officials on holiday and out of the country with family. What it has done has given us plenty of time, to either identify the perfect appointment and wait until he is officially available or thoroughly 'interview' the chosen. Thr right man doesn't happen overnight - particulary convincing a good manager that Crystal Palace are going to match his ambitions. Other clubs don't necessarily have to do that, clubs like us do.

Unless Southampton surprise us all by going for someone completely different whereupon both will be clamouring for the Palace gig and SP will tell them to naff off as we don't want sloppy seconds

Roy Hodgson it is then

We have been linked with quite a few potential managers over the weeks and with the exception of Sean Dyche all of them have been unemployed and I would have thought that employment would have been more important to them than a holiday especially as most won't have children of school age and can go on holiday at any time

I'd rather have a coach than a manager anyway, pretty sure pochettino has no say in transfers and have heard him say he couldn't care who the club signs, give him the players and he will get the best out of them. Which hasn't done Tottenham too bad.

With the money involved in the premier league you have no real advantage over the others with the exception of the obvious big clubs in the transfer market.

I think the way to go now is a director of football to manage the club and a coach to take charge of the first team
