I genuinely think we are some of the most patient supporters in any football league. Almost every 12 months, sometimes less, were either saying FFS sack someone before they relegate us, which drags on way beyond when common sense went out of the window, or we're saying FFS make an appointment because we've got a preseason/transfer window to deal with, whilst the club sets a new record in feet dragging, navel gazing and rumination. Yet we're all still here. It's us that deserve the accolades for putting up with it year in, year out.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Steve Parish can take as long as he likes. It's his (and the others) club and he's running it. The 'supporters' don't own a single penny of the club. They pay to watch a match and the product they are buying is viewing a match from a seat. After the match ends, the club owes that supporter absolutely nothing and the 'supporter's' investment is finished. That's the reality, not what many want to accept but that's it.

Some might argue that without 'Supporters' there is no club but of course the converse is true and we have been dangerously near to that situation. Finally, the comments have led me to conclude that the instigator perhaps views those who come along week on week as "Customers" rather than supporters.

That's a rather unusual view as even Steve Parish has publically stated that he is merely the custodian of the club. We may not be shareholders in the company but we are all stakeholders and if everyone decided to withdraw their support that would signify the beginning of the end as the club would soon be unviable with no customers

With regards to the comment that there wouldn't be a club without supporters, logically yes. However in reality, all those watching the clubs matches right now wouldnt stop watching all at the same time and those that did stop would be replaced with others pretty quickly. If you are a regular cinema goer, you not a cinema supporter, you're a customer. Same for a football club. The term 'supporter' is just that a term that's been used incorrectly for decades but that still doesn't remove the fact that those that pay to watch a match own zero of the club they're watching unless they own shares in that club, which we all know, nearly all do not.
