Furthermore, apropos the news and it's seeming contradictions, I am sure any meetings they have regarding such coverage is labelled or seen as a 'strategy' meeting these days as opposed to 'let's just inform people of what is going on'.

I have always been inclined to vote Labour however lost faith in them, started voting for the Blue more so for societal reasons - same. They're all the same side of one coin for me aligned in an ideological approach or 'culture'. Their policies and political ideologies have therefore become of such insignificance I have genuinely lost all faith and even really interest beyond anything that immediately concerns me.

My resolution has been to solely follow the both red and blue. It's a rollercoaster for sure but has been a far more prosperous and exciting one the last decade+ and the steadfast expectance of disappointment, however illogical, secures me from heartache and makes the moments of ecstasy ever so sweeter! I would hardly say what's being referred to here is socialism.....not that I'm a fan of socialism anyway...As Marx said, it's merely a stop off to eventual communism (as it turns out a weird form), but that's another story.

Teachers shouldn't be teaching students to be politically biased in the classroom.....I know some do as I was a teacher but I regard it as extremely unprofessional.

In the UK it was always made clear we were buying time to avoid the NHS crumbling, to allow vaccines to be developed and to figure out how to treat people that were badly affected. It was always clear that eventually we would let it rip, but doing so too soon would sign thousands of death warrants.

China, by contrast, has no apparent strategy for exit. It has low uptake of poor vaccines. It hasn’t built broad based immunity. It is reasonable to protest now, after so much time has been available. It would have been absolutely wrong to protest before we knew what we were dealing with.

But his first full month in office, which included the announcement of £24 billion of tax rises on November 17, has seen this fall to just nine per cent. Mr Hunt, the Chancellor, is now in negative territory on minus 9.9 per cent, a fall of 30 percentage points on his previous rating (29.7 per cent)."

This reflects the view of many members I have been in conversation with.

The Tory MPs don't get elected by the Tory Party membership. They get elected by us. The population as a whole.

Tory MPs don't serve the Tory Party membership. They serve everyone in their constituency, whether they voted for them ,or not.

The only reason that a Tory MP needs to heed the opinions of the local party members is when they come to re-select them, but, with good management Central Office can retain some discipline.

What matters is how the way the Sunak government, and in particular Hunt, are enabling a recovery from the stupidity of Truss is perceived by the electorate as a whole, and not by a bunch of prejudiced activists. Whether it will be enough to rescue the Party from the Truss disaster, which compounded that already created by Johnson, remains doubtful. At least now there is a chance.
