Usual stuff about BBC 'impartiality' from the usual suspects. Will not 'label' terrorists, but never hesitate to label many groups critical of left wing causes as 'far right'.

Just looked on BBC news website. Cannot see any headlines regarding the stabbing in France. You can, however, read what life is like in the Gaza Strip

Found it, on the Europe page, thought it might warrant front page but hey ho

So what?

It’s a specialist magazine covering media issues. The data it reports comes from academic studies and a YouGov survey. What these show is that my perception of the BBC being impartial is much more widely held than the perception that it has a left wing bias. A perception which is stated as a fact by many here.

All this shows is what is really obvious. That the majority of users of this section are wildly unrepresentative of the population as a whole. This is just one of the places where they can confirm their own biases and convince themselves that everyone thinks as they do. They don’t.

That they are defined by the government as a terrorist organisation is routinely reported by the BBC. That is indeed a fact.

They won’t do so in their own voice. The BBC, thank goodness, are not a spokesperson for any government and to maintain impartiality and trust, even when reporting on the most heinous of atrocities, they won’t label the perpetrators. They allow us to reach our own conclusions.

There are lots of people here who neither like or, in my view, truly understand the role and purpose of, the BBC. They would like to reduce them to be just another broadcaster.

I disagree. I believe they are one of our very few remaining stand out examples of us leading the world.

In fairness, I cannot see that the BBC are reporting that the attack on the convoy was carried out by Israel, whereas Sky are calling it an Israeli attack. Israel is saying it is investigating the situation but it wasn’t concentrating on that area and also that Hamas had been mining roads. Take your pick as to who is guilty.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

It's unlikely that Hamas are mining busy roads that have their own people on them.

I suppose you could take the line that they are killing their own people deliberately but it's probably not the case.

Once the Israeli armour comes in and the streets are a battleground I imagine they will start mining.

Irony abounds as BBC vandalised by pro Palestine group.

The Louvre was evacuated due to a bomb threat, this was on most major news outlets such as AP, can't see anything on BBC.

Only trolls now defending the BBC

Let's ask Emily Maitlis and Andrew Marr for some impartial comment.

Again fully reported in all bulletins.

Why is this thread choc full of posters who attack but don't listen/watch? Memories of Mary Whitehouse who used to challenge the morality of shows she had never seen.

There are good arguments up the thread on public funding for a service losing its audience to streaming etc., but this kind of barrel scraping criticism is not them.

Because there are some whose only intent is to further their own point of view, not to learn or to debate. You'll find that links that might further our understanding are not even looked at. If it's reasoned debate you want - wrong place, mate.
