Can you remind me when Israel beheaded babies, killed children in front of their parents, raped women before killing them and burned people alive?

I suppose if they wanted to be correct and show their impartiality the BBC would say “ Hamas a designated terrorist organisation by the UK government”

It always goes back “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter”

Hamas would argue that the world doesn’t take their plight seriously and no one does anything about the illegal occupation their land and the suppression of the Palestine people. They therefore have to take drastic action. Killing civilians however is not obviously the way although they would argue Israel has done that for years.

It’s all a bloody mess with both sides having committed atrocities over the years.

Notwithstanding what I said above, the problem with Hamas is they were elected. Thus, it was (past tense) difficult to describe them as terrorists if they were also duly elected representatives for their people. It is wholly counter to the definition of that word to describe an elected body as terrorists. Thus, if you describe them as terrorists, you MUST also describe Israel as the same, given they murder hundreds of innocent - but "acceptable collateral" - Palestinians every year. It is a murky area.

That said, their conduct and constitution has altered all that to the extent that the UK has had to formally designated them as such.

Nevertheless, it stuns me that many posters on here are genuinely of the view that the only good Arab/Muslim is a dead one. I find those views appalling and have a great deal of sympathy with the Palestinian people who have been robbed and exiled and then repeatedly kicked while down.

However, my sympathy does not extend to Hamas. Not just through their conduct, but by their desire to murder millions of Israelis and then set up a brutal, theocratic dictatorship.

The trouble is, I do not know how to wipe them off the face of the map without murdering countless innocents. It is certainly not by the methods adopted by the current murderous, failed, Israeli government whose blood lust will cause awful consequent events to ripple through history. All this while the West sits in the sidelines cheering them on, oblivious to the consequences.

Hamas may have been elected but that was back in 2006 and there haven’t been elections since (I think that is correct). So back in 2006 Hamas may have been a good choice for the electorate but if they haven’t had a chance to vote them out since then Hamas could have morphed into something else. Rather like the EEC morphing into the EU and the electorate not being given a chance to object…
