Instead of just ranting why don't you look properly and see that the quote that you are unhappy about was actually a factual correction to the inaccurate impression given in a newspaper article that was posted by someone else. Incidentally whilst not a chartered accountant my background is in commercial finance so what is it about that set of accounts that you wish to know and perhaps I could explain it to you

He must have had a multi million pound payoff from the FA plus a couple of million from us on top of his six months salary and if that wasn't enough his villa in Moraira is for sale for £3.5m so that lot should just about be enough to keep the wolves from the door

Calm down. It was posted in response to a post relating to an out-of-date article stating that none of the Palace directors took a salary, which is no longer the case. Of course it's Parish, return on investment wouldn't be shown as a directors salary. No one has commented on whether he's entitled to it or not, and I personally have no problem with it, but let's not pretend that he's doing it for love. He puts in the time and gets paid for it; that is all. Yeh not ranting or having a go at you, I know why you were posting it. Some people will jump on it though and it doesn't state which director.

Firstly this will probably be in the main thread next time you look and secondly Puel may have taken Southampton to 8th place but their 46 points was only six points more than Dyche's Burnley yet Southampton had a vastly greater player budget to work with. It would have been interesting to see where Southampton and Burnley would have ended up if each had the opposing manager in charge last year It has been reported that the reason for the sacking of Puel was Southampton's style of play, lack of goals, lack of excitement etc. It might be easier for Southampton managers to please the crowd if they don't keep selling their best players.I am thinking of Clyne, Schneiderlin, Pelle,Wanyama, Mane, Lallana, Shaw etc etc.In the circumstances Puel didn't do badly at all. The other main thread is now pointless! I would be happy with either Pellegrino or De Boer but would prefer Pellegrino. As for Dyche, I just can't believe how low we would be aiming with him. On the other thread I've mentioned Puel a few times and would still welcome him. However some jumped on me as they railled about his poor run-in in Southampton's last 8 games. Fair enough, but he still took them to 8th as the 'best of the rest' and did so under immmense pressure knowing that the board were about to "review" his position. Dyche's achievement at Burnley comes nowhere close to Puel's first season in the Prem! supposedly the players turned on him and gave up for the season. bad reports on how the players didn't like him.

Oh well, good luck to the new Southampton manager. He will need to compete for Europe whilst at the same time selling their top players, yet he must still win games with style, in a manner to keep their supporters entertained and the players happy !

This has now become farcial and has dragged on far too long. Should have had the new manager appointed no later than the end of last week; given that the players are due to report back from pre-season fitness tests next week.
