Err, correction Hrolf. Read the thread. And it isn't just myself and Jamie who are uncomfortable with this attempt to subvert the outcome of the referendum. I suspect most Remain voters - while unhappy with the outcome and what appears to be the dismal level of education in this country - also accept the result. Also, side note, I voted to leave.

The queues will be shorter by 133,000 then! That's just the start though, once we instill the Aussie style points system, the only visitors here will be welcomed as part of a structured immigration strategy/programme and we will be expecting them rather than the unstructured "come on over join the party" attitude we currently have with muggers/rapists/pickpockets/drug peddlers/sex traffickers/terrorists etc amongst the genuine good guys looking to build a life for themselves and enrich our communities. Ok. But if they pass the points system they will be allowed to bring their families over too. So if say 40,000 are allowed to settle per annum and they are qualified and experienced and needed then it's fair to say they won't be many 21 year olds amongst them. Wives and children? That's gonna get that to over 100,000 straightaway. Australia allows the olds too to join their kids. So add another few thousand. Then there's the fruit and veg pickers. They are needed. Blimey. We are going to need loads.

No, no options for either on the canteen menu, which I think is shockingly poor. Well they have something called Cheddar, but its a affront. Our office just has a microwave and a kettle. We're not even allowed a toaster any more. We have to do our washing up in the toilet. And we have to pay for t'privilege of working here 25 hours a day. Canteen, you don't know you're born.

So a fella could have 1,000 points for example (I don't know what the scale is) and if he behaves nicely he gets allocated more points which he can use to purchase white goods or to bring family members over who had previously been involved in a crime or only have two qualifications (one of which is a degree in the History of Art).

You do know the UK can and does turn them back at the border where they are aware of their offences, even if they're from the EU. The problem has more been the UK has been very poor with its border control systems, having completely failed to replace its 1992-1996 IT systems, until 2014 Pretty sure that you don't need a points system to prevent convicted felons from entering a country. How many points would you need to make up for prior convictions for rape or murder?

More personal insults. Clearly I am getting to you, which is nice. I didn't say anyone voting Leave is intellectually inferior, I said they did it for their own purposes. Those don't match my aims in life, including my wishes for the future generations. As for pant/bed wetting, you must be joking. I am sh*tting myself. We will have to make the best or a bad situation, I am just not sure how bad it is going to get and for how long.

I feel like I've f**king arrived at the big time, compared to when I was working in Slough, opposite the rehab clinic, next to an illegal pub that acted largely as a crack and heroin retail outlet. As a side note, due to recent posts on HoL I shall be having a Ploughman's for supper to make up for missing out on good cheddar and crusty bread a lunch.

Problem is, now we've left the EU, obtaining that data from other countries is going to be a lot more difficult. Still, way that Brexit is going, give it a year, and we could all be looking for work washing cars in Lithuania. Or be up for leader of a major UK political party.

You must hate me. If you didn't you would read my posts. To repeat, again. Young people voted in similar proportions to everyone else according to the London School of Economics survey undertaken by Opinium. Some quotes: Bruter and Harrison said they found turnout among young people to be far higher than data has so far suggested. “Young people cared and voted in very large numbers. We found turnout was very close to the national average, and much higher than in general and local elections. “After correcting for over-reporting [people always say they vote more than they do], we found that the likely turnout of 18- to 24-year-olds was 70% – just 2.5% below the national average – and 67% for 25- to 29-year-olds. Opinium also found that, on average, British voters now believe that the typical UK household will be £264 worse off every year over the next five years. More than 46.5 million people voted in the referendum on 23 June, which resulted in the UK voting by 51.9% to 49.1% to withdraw from the EU. More than 70% of people aged 18 to 24 voted to remain in the EU, while among those over 60 there was a large majority in favour of leaving.' That's just one Iphone less in your household then each year so not a big problem then is it?
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I'll be honest, I sometimes wish I was a ploughman. All the work is finished by about 2pm and then you can put your feet up with a nice bit of cheese, bread, onions and a token apple (for decoration) served by a buxom, rosy-cheeked wife. Bliss.
