Me too, it’s bad enough occasionally reading through his and Hrolfs ranting on the politics pages. Frankly, they should probably restrict themselves to that audience of about 20 posters.

Yeah, I mean God forbid anyone has an opinion that differs from your eh?

Imagine a scenario where a press conference is called for 4pm at Beckenham this afternoon.
A grim faced Parish is sitting there flanked by Hodgson and Freedman.
Parish announces that Hodgson has tendered his resignation…..but the club has refused it and Hodgson has instead signed a 2 year extension.
This message board collapses as a result.

That made me laugh out loud.

There are clearly issues at the club at the moment.
The disconnect between Roy and the medical team.
The uncharacteristic behaviour of Anderson.
The tweet from Sam Johnstone's brother suggesting there are issues around Sam losing his place.
The way that the team appeared to throw in the towel v Brighton and Arsenal.
The leaks, presunambly from Textor, that Hodgson's position is untenable.
One could glibly say these are typical issues when form is poor and nothing that a couple of victories wouldn't put right.
I'm not so sure.
To me something has broken and the club needs a fresh voice and approach to kickstart the season.
If we genuinely can't attract anyone after approaching people it diminishes any remaining authority of Hodgson, who looks increasingly like a lame duck, as well as being embarrassing for the club.

You forgot the greatest embarrassment of some of the fans have started digging out the players at matches and are creating a toxic atmosphere that will see performances drop off the cliff .

For sure on here its fair game and where we can get things off our chest but for me at games its a big no. Support the team or stay away .

I'm not going to answer any of your points because I cannot be bothered to write a novel and I have better things to do. You seem the type that is determined to disagree regardless anyway.
All I will say we are not on the training ground day in day out. We can all make decisions and observations based on what we see on a match day. Thats fair enough up to a point. When fans talk as though they know more than the manager I tend to switch off. Its embarrassing.

You are being embarrass by not allowing people to post as they see it & the fact that doesn't align with your opinion is showing you up(again) with your constant attack on posters who don't agree with you.

Let posters their opinions & let the comment on yours whether you like the answers or not. . . . Have a nice day

Roy's lengthy career will come to an ignominious end, overdue for a mediocre manager who had the cheek to compare his achievements to those of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Roy really didn't need this season, but after being gifted all the "easy" fixtures to ride out last season, he probably thought this season would be a doddle and a nice way to see out his career, to the resounding plaudits of his fanbase. Unfortunately for him events have transpired in a way that illustrate that he has no other way of thinking about the game, no plan B when things get tough.
I recall Iceland going two up after 18 minutes and Roy unable to affect the game, basically because he didn't have the imagination to try and make something happen. Those England players then looked as clueless as the Palace players do now. Those players, and ours, are pretty decent, but Roy is so negative he destroys all hope.
Goodbye Roy, you never should have taken this second term, you didn't owe Parish any favours.

I think most would be of the opinion that if the perfect or even a decent replacement were available a change could be helpful. Helpful, not a magic wand. The new guy would still face the same injury problems that Roy is currently dealing with. And now Rak-Saki is apparently also injured the creativity is even more sparce. But looking at the candidates being mentioned I cant really see how that change can currently happen right now.
You have the much mentioned Cooper (because he is available). He did well with England youth and he did well in the Championship. He did not do well in the Premiership. As mentioned by many he had literally ten times the budget at Forest he would get at Palace as well as half the injury problems. While at Forest (during a torrid time where forced to sack Vieira) Forest were never once above or even close to us in the table. Only my opinion but for those reasons I definitely do NOT think he would be an improvement especially with the current limited squad. The owners quite obviously are not interested or he'd have been approached by now.
There is Lupetego who did a decent job at Wolves but the rumours of his outragous demands that prompted Wolves to pull the plug make him sound too expensive for Palace.
Potter has been mentioned. I wouldn't be against that but some sections of our fanbase would be quick to jump on any poor performances and tolerance would be far less because he is ex Brighton. Plus if you read the news it seems he is holding out for a bigger job to become available.
People talk about Paddy which I think is truly ridiculous. Not only is he part of the coaching set up that everyone is complaining about but on top of that you dont risk £120m a year income on a total novice.
Freedman has been mentioned by a few as a short term option. From what has been said by people that know him, he doesn't want it. Not even on a short term basis.
There's Paolo Fonseca who is currently working in France with Lille and while he has expressed a desire to manage in the Premiership and has revealed he will not renew his contract he is absolutely not available until the summer.
Same situation with England No.2 Steve Holland who has made it known he wants a job as a no,1 after the Euros. Until the summer he is going nowhere.

There will be other candidates out there that I haven't mentioned or thought of but for me there does not seem to be an obvious improvement on what we currently have out there that is available until the summer which is when Roy will be leaving anyway. I realise some will feel anyone would be an improvement but that is really just silly when you look at Roy's experience.

I've defended Roy on here...until recently.

We've debated the mitigating circumstances at length on here, but slowly but surely I think he has lost the plot.

Subbing Clyne at Arsenal left gaps for them to score their 4th and 5th goals. Then the Olise debacle on Saturday. Together with his increasingly painful post match comments.

Would another manager make a difference ? I think that's becoming more and more difficult. And hence the reported reluctance to take it on.

I think he should have gone after the Arsenal game if we could have attracted someone to the job. Why ? It's just possible that a fresh pair of eyes could have tinkered with the selections and tactics. It's just possible that a new man would have taken Henderson out of the firing line. It's entirely possible that a new man would not have brought Olise on at a time when the game was already lost.

I agree, appointing Paddy would be a nonsense. If we are going to look within then Freedman is the obvious choice...he told me he wouldn't go back into management but people change their minds. And if it was only until the end of the season then maybe...Simon Jordan said on Talksport yesterday that he thought Dougie would do it on that basis. But he doesn't know any more than I do.

It's 2/5 because of the amount of money being placed on RH. It's the same with the next manager markets. Bookies love them because there's about 4 that get backed into odds on before the real one gets it.

Who knows if Roy goes or not. My gut feeling was that it's about to happen, but I'm probably wrong and it depends if they can get anyone they're confident in to take the job on. That might not happen now we've left it till after the window and cracking olise again.

Talking of Freedman, what must the new signings be thinking?
"Wait a minute, isn't this the fellow who we met regarding the move? Does he have a twin brother?"
It can't be Freedman, nothing would illustrate more what a mickey mouse club we are if the DOF had to step into the manager's role because the current one had to go but the chairman couldn't find a replacement. Good grief...

Here's a plan.

Throw a new player from outside the Premier League into a traditionally fiery game.

Play your reserve goalkeeper instead of your tried and trusted goalie who is fit and on the bench.

Play a centreback in midfield when there are 4 midfielders on the bench.

Play a central midfielder on the right wing when you have a talented young winger on the bench and then keep swapping the wingers over until half time.

When your best centreback gets injured, move the centreback in midfield back to replace him and bring on a debutant attacking midfielder and play him in holding midfield. Then move the proper holding midfielder to attacking midfield.

Ping a pass from short range to the makeshift holding midfielder so he can be caught on the ball and destroy his confidence when the opposition score.

When the game is out of reach at half time, take the make do winger off and replace him with an injured winger.

After 9 minutes take off the now seriously injured winger and play with 10 men.

After a couple of minutes put on the left winger but play him on the right wing.

When your solitary striker scores with his only opportunity, replace him.

You might as well replace the attacking midfielder at the same time.

Oh no, someone has tried that. Unfortunately the only people who weren't confused were the oppostion.
