But immigration is a political hot potato. Because although immigration provides plenty of workers to fill needed gaps in industry, there is a perception (rightly or wrongly) that illegal immigration is actually becoming a massive financial and social burden.

And no-one at the top seems capable of doing anything. The attached is Rishi today. The same photo could be use for the next 2 years, or so, then a new PM will be chanting the same mantra.

There are 'here today, gone tomorrow' politicians who....because they bat for globalism....will likely have jobs in corporations and globalist institutions afterwards.

They are essentially traitors to the person in the street.....which is essentially what globalism is.....a huge wealth and property grab by the wealth class, with trickle down for their underlings, all cloaked in the language of pretense.

Correct. And this is the real reason that Western Europe is fecked.

I am not so sure it applies elsewhere in Europe but it's certainly a problem in the UK. So you accept that the problem is not, as some seem to think, immigration but that the feckless contribute to the need for immigration.

Even if they all worked we would still need to have some immigration, but obviously less.

I would be a lot harder with the feckless. No one should just sit at home all day. Everyone has a job, even if they don't have work. The job of those without work is to find work and any time left should be spent helping those who need help. Supervision is the issue though.

This is another subject on which you constantly post complete nonsense.

The Cambridge Dictionary defines Globalism as:-

"the idea that events in one country cannot be separated from those in another and that economic and foreign policy should be planned in an international way"

Other dictionaries have similar definitions, but none mention it being a traitor to the man in the street.

Wiki provides insight into where your false ideas come from. Read the second paragraph and the final one:-

You would think that after you just embarrassed yourself over the ethnicity word....which apparently you had never encountered before to have also included race.....even though it's on pretty much every official form.....you would think that you'd be reluctant to wade once more into dictionary definitions.

Of course globalism doesn't have to include being a traitor in much the same way that communism didn't have to involve tens of millions of people dying. The base meaning of globalism isn't by its nature 'bad', it's how it is used.

What is important is in it's extent and how and what it is used for....which was my point.

For example, globalism as used to develop infrastructure to help feed the vulnerable in the world equals good....globalism used for 'you will own nothing and be happy' equals not so good....Globalism used to control and regulate everybody's life also not so good.

The fact that I have to write this obvious fact is tedious.....but then again, you're hardly here for entertainment are you.

Take a look in the mirror! It's you who is embarrassing yourself. Ethnicity doesn't reflect anyone's race. That was all explained in great detail but you still state it as though it is a matter of fact. I posted this link before:-

This time do read it, or you will go on posting nonsense. Its first paragraph describes your problem, "Race and ethnicity are terms that are sometimes used sloppily, almost interchangeably. But race and ethnicity are not the same thing."

The way forms are constructed to elicit data has nothing to do with actual meanings. It's just to gather data.

I bet you didn't even read the Wiki entry on globalisation! If you did you wouldn't have the audacity to post what's above. It's another bout of bonkers.

Globalism isn't "used" in the way you suggest. Nobody designs a policy in which people own nothing and are expected to be happy. All it is is an acceptance that in today's world we are all dependent on each other. So we must adopt policies which recognise that.

It's not a shady cabal of the mega-rich stitching up the rest of us. That's just the conspiracy theories of the right. That Trump and his bunch of looney followers want everyone to believe it obviously works on some in the USA. We clear-headed Brits are better than that. Or most of us are. Those that get their "information" from dodgy YouTubers obviously not.

I don't need some foreign progressive butcher to decide to alter the English language for political reasons. I don't need to constantly look up terms that have been part of my language for centuries. I knew what the word actually means, like most people do.

For anyone bothering to actually read this, the author to which Wisbech thinks is some authority is Nina Jablonski. This woman's previous books cited in the article are...

To quote:

'She has published several books, including “Living Color: The Biological and Social Meaning of Skin Color” (University of California Press, 2014) and “Skin: A Natural History” (University of California Press, 200, and has given a TED Talk, called “Skin Color is an Illusion.'

So that's an Professor of Anthropology with an agenda and not someone objective. Pretty much like your agenda.

It faces some stiff competition but that's got to be one of the dimmest things you have written.

Well, let's just say your track record on 'conspiracy theories' isn't exactly working very well.

The guy who pushed Russiagate for years on here, reduced to kicking it into the long grass. Who can't even admit what a fool he's made of himself when even the FBI aren't investigating anymore after tens of millions.

The guy who pushed the idea that getting the jab stopped transmission based on nothing but hearsay from 'respected sources'....I guess those editors and lawyers let you down eh.

You are the guy who believes in nonsense old bean. Pretty much most of what you say gets discredited or worsens society in some way.

More bonkers! Is there anything you don't think you know more about than a specialist and dismiss their knowledge just because their conclusions don't match your prejudices, labelling them as a "political butcher"? The lady's books go to the heart of why your attitudes on this subject are so wrong so it's little wonder you seek to belittle her. Experts like her are a threat to people like you.

You fit the descriptions about the way the right mangle the truth like a glove and the more you post, the tighter the fit.

That you wish to join the Trump camp and claim that the Mueller enquiry has somehow been shown to have been all a "witch-hunt" is par for your course. The enquiry is over. The FBI's involvement in it is complete. For now at least. That's true, but it isn't the end of the matter. Not by a long chalk. There is a time and a place for everything. I have patience. Justice has tenacity. You will find out.

I didn't "push" anything. I described what the expert scientific consensus was at the time, whilst you pushed unscientific theories. As knowledge increased and the variants emerged we became aware that whilst the vaccines protected against severe disease they didn't stop reinfection. That's scientific progress. Not the confirmation of an unscientific theory. Sometimes a coin flip comes down the way you called it. That's luck. It isn't knowledge.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

i saw a rumour of the Republic of Ireland having recently taken in 700,000 newcomers. Into a country of only 5 million people.

No wonder the place is falling apart.

the political (and to some extent the logistical/social) reasoning behind these numbers invading Western Europe, is unfathomable to me. Seemingly putting at risk of undermining of countries heritage and social fabric.
If I was in charge of the UK, I would put a stop to the boats and then try to work out how to stop long-term migration.
It just seems successive Governments say one thing to voters and then actively encourage them to our shores with hotels and food vouchers.

Vlad Putin has, correctly, identified the weakness of the West. Its Namby-Pamby do-gooder Liberalism.

His strategy to destroy the West , is to flood the place with refugees from the South , the South-East( Syria) and now the East.

Why bother expending Russian soldiers when you can have some barefoot blokes in dinghies to do your bidding. This is Warfare. Not of the military type. It is Social & Economic Warfare. To replicate the 470 AD Fall of Rome.....engineered by the Kremlin.

And his plans are working like a Swiss Watch. The Civil unrest in France is only the beginning.

The real War is not fully on the Front in Ukraine.....it is invisible and happening on your streets and your financial markets and your Exchequer

First Syria, then Ukraine. Do not be surprised if Vlad engineers a nasty War in Morocco.......to flood Europe once again. And then after that, Egypt.....home to 113 million, or any of the 85 million in Turkey.

It's a long time ago but as I remember it it was quite seriously suggested that the Philippines should prepare for this. Don't think it has actually happened though.
