RLC is Listed in injury table website with an injury update which seems to be dated 7th December 2022 it says he has a shin / calf / heel issue, currently doing gym work with a possibility of return 5th January 2023 - I guess that entry will be updated in the coming days - Originally posted by Croydon-Trucker

As the cheers song says. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. He was happy here, smiling and playing his best football. It could even convince Wilf to stay. He would make a massive difference to us as he is a playmaker and defensive mid. We could play him, doucoure and Eze in the centre.

I think if Chelsea were to let him leave (which could possibly happen if they sign the Argentinian lad) I think there might be bigger fish after him like Newcastle, while you'd also imagine Everton would throw their ring into the hat. At Chelsea he seems to be playing deeper which he wasn't very good at for us or WBA. Hopefully his career isn't killed by being a bit part at Chelsea.

I was watching him yday and he just isnt the same player at all when in the Chelsea midfield . He is definatley what we are missing , energy in the midfield ! If he plays for us as he did yday then i would rather he went somewhere else .

While I think this is undoubtedly true, what we have going for us that they don't is most importantly, Vieira's apparently very strong relationship with Conor and also, though perhaps less so, the fact that he's a local lad. If Conor was happy to leave Chelsea after what must have been a somewhat sobering six months, I'd imagine his choice of destination will be more carefully thought out than just "biggest club to come in for me" and the thought of a central role for an emergent local side playing for a manager who's all-in on him at a club where he knows he'll be happy and appreciated may well be appealing. Plus, Conor is very much young enough that two or three good years in the right environment at Palace could yet see him move to a top-four side in his mid-twenties. In October, I'd have said the chances of Conor's return were no better than 5-10%. I'd say it still remains unlikely, but it's probably 25-35% now and trending upwards. I'm 100% sure we'll asking Chelsea the question - at least if we can have him back on loan for the rest of the season with a view to buying in the summer - this week.

You may be right, but we are essentially playing for mid-table, which might not be that appealing to him if he's ambitious. Personally I think he'll stay at Chelsea as he is getting minutes and if he believes in himself then he probably won't want to give up on his boyhood club just yet. If Chelsea sign another midfielder then this could all change, but if they don't then Potter probably won't want him to go either as their midfield is getting a bit long in the tooth. Personally I think we are in far more need of another defensive midfielder anyway, albeit I'd love to see Conor back.

It’s an interesting situation. The Chelsea dream seems to have come to a standstill. He is not guaranteed a starting place at his current club, they are still looking to bring in more players - so what does he do? A move across to us makes sense on so many levels…guaranteed first team football, staying in London, hero amongst the fans, already know his team mates - the list goes on … We are obviously not the only club interested in him, but we certainly must the most appealing…

We are definatley missing his high up the pitch pressing and joining the attack . A loan with an option to buy sounds good to me .
