AWB had another solid game yesterday from his defensive tackles to sharp attacking play. Man U will surely not want to let him go now.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It creates situations where a club may well like and respect a player, but if they want to spend money in the window they have no choice but to let him go. He has pulled his socks up since I last commented on this thread He’s a sure fire pick week in week out for Utd Plus if he was for sale I’m doubting he would come back to a club That struggles for 12/13/14th season in season out He has ambitions to win a medal or 6

I'd also imagine he's on a United-sized contract so his pay expectations would far exceed our pay scale, particularly for a right back. I'd guess the lower paid members of United's squad probably earn more than anyone at Palace outside of Wilf.

FFP doesn’t apply to Man Utd, you must of noticed this. AWB won’t be coming back here, he has moved to a level above us in terms of value. £25m for a full back isn’t the most prudent way to spend any transfer funds.

Very good points as usual Syd. I'm pretty sure Dougie et al are already tracking bright young backs who'd be a lot cheaper than AWB.

Palace were very interested when a loan was proposed almost a year ago. Now his value has increased so from both a wage (£80k plus a week) and a transfer fee perspective (guessing £25m min) he is unaffordable.
