Everyone seems to be missing the real question here which is what is trying to be achieved out of all this?

Do they want to close down sporting clubs because they consider them institutionally racist?

Do they want an apology?

Do they want money?

What is the actual recompense for something that happened 10, 15 years ago and is now being brought to light?

Does this mean that any sportsperson that was abused at school, at college, at club or international level now be entitled to take former friends or colleagues to court because they say they were abused?

Who does this right to take someone to court work for, just the already relatively rich ones who have Sky's support and a platform to promote or does it truly mean that all people can now take themselves off to court and seek compensation of one sort or another?

Lots of questions, very few answers. The cynic in me says this is purely about money but it would be refreshing to see Rafiq stand up and say he doesn't want any money out of this and he just wants an apology. After all, there is little else that can realistically expect when you talk of historic acts such as these.

As an aside trying to get into the Yorkshire cricket team was virtually impossible for anyone white, black, brown or in between until relatively recently unless you were born in Yorkshire. Everyone who played cricket knows this. They did relax the rules, but it was a well known fact. Not sure this point has any real bearing on what happened with Rafiq but worth bearing in mind. I am not sure how the real truth will be decided upon given it is hearsay.

The burden of proof with regard to evidence to provide the exact words and timings of those words will become a legal nightmare to prove one way or another. Also I'm not really sure what outcome the investigation is seeking, perhaps someone can enlighten me.
