Don't think so. Opened them up with a dangerous ball across the face of goal which Schlupp put back in the mixer. And for those saying Meyer had a bad game, look at his positioning for the goal - the timed run into the box, right up with play ready for the tap in, forcing Bardsley into the error. Edited by southnorwoodhill (02 Mar 2019 7.42pm) It was.

Roy is signed up for another season, which for me is absolutely fine. We badly need continuity and need to avoid the upheaval and time&energy lost when finding a new manager If Roy decides one more year will be enough for him we should be looking for an assistant this Summer who we think will be capable of taking over.

At some time, next season or the season after,Roy will retire. This being Palace, we'll take a month or so to go through the recruitment process. The new manager will be new to the club and will take time to assess his new squad etc. etc. lining up the traditional poor start to the season, ready made excuses and expensive signings in January. You can keep a list of prospects as up to date as you like but things change rapidly for managers and you cannot be sure if your choice(s) will be released, want to come, want to negotiate special terms... Just for once, why cant we try something a bit different? We'll know Roy's retirement date a season before he leaves. Why cant we get someone then, who knows he will take over in a year but until then work with Roy and the team?

Ray Lewington's already failed as a manager at CPFC; he was a good coach then as well. I hope he'd continue to fill that role after Roy retires and I think he'd go on doing that longer without a role change.

Kinda like what's going on with the Irish international teams, in rugby once Schmidt is off Farrell will be taking over his roll and in Football Mick McCarthy is in there until after the qualifying stages then the u20s coach Stephen Kenny will be taking the position. I like the idea of this but i can see flaws in it that would need to be worked out

I’ll be happy for Roy to stay next season. Yes, he can be frustrating, yes someone new could maybe get more out of certain players but at this stage of our ‘growth’ it’s key to maintain stability which is what Roy brings. If that means another season at the lower end of the table / but avoiding relegation then so be it … but I’ll take that and his years of experience and structured methods over the unknown. If he manages to persuade the club and Wilf & AWB to stay another season, then he should be knighted!

Very bizarre. He's been quite brilliant at everything he has done so far.

We might as well all give up then, that bloke at Man.U is as hopeless as he was at Cardiff, some people can actually learn from mistakes and learn under the guidance of great managers like Hodgson.
