I don't really understand what's going on. At the start of the season we were unlucky and losing games we deserved something from, but recently we have been playing so poorly like half the team have given up.
On paper our team is pretty impressive

I just don't understand this. We have a few players who are better quality on paper, but the fact that Zeki Fryers and Fraser Campbell have always been at the edge of the 25 man squad and are currently at the edge of the first team speaks volumes for me. There is no way that our team is "pretty impressive" either on paper or on grass.

Alladyce blames loss on players being shattered..we had the longest break of any team over Christmas..they are supposed to be professional sportsmen, who are paid handsomely for the privelige...listening to him on the BBC website, he is showing about as much enthusiasm as the team. As dull as dish water.

Over Christmas maybe, but not over the last two games. Note how the three teams who had short rest performed today.

For me it starts and ends with the defence. Not only are they atrocious at defending but they offer f*** all going forward and make it very easy for the opposition to defend (particularly tonight). Not sure what Kelly has to do to get dropped is beyond me. He is so bad it's laughable yet still keeps getting picked.

Kelly has been destroyed by Pardew playing him LBe week after week for 6-8 weeks. Every fan knows Ward is better there or even play Fryers there for 45 mins, but no, destroy him there. His confidence has completely gone. Looks a bag of nerves now at RB.

I thought Kelly had his best games for ages against United and Chelsea. Maybe as Townsend wasn't playing and he had more cover?

Full credit to the Campbell and Sako for showing some desire. Cabaye was the only player who managed to pass the ball accurately and once Wilf was moved to the right (why the hell he hasn't been starting there???) he was a threat. Aside from that it was woeful. It strikes me that perhaps sacking Pardew was not a popular decision with the first XI; of course they need to suck it up and show some desire now.

Unless Kelly has been hiding something from us he needs to go. Go away. He is a truly awful fullback. Even the bottom teams just look at our team and go "attack the wings and ye shall score!" And they do. Every game.

We need some strong characters in the team. McArthur will be key and hopefully if Remy stays fit and Bentenke isn't too badly hurt then we can find some threat. The first half was probably the worst performance in four years and I'm not blaming Allardyce, but there was no spirit, which despite all the problems was not something we were missing under Pardew.

Screw the FA Cup and lets build and recover for West Ham.

Excluding your comments about Benteke, I agree with you but Benteke is a waste of space in my opinion, doesn't effectively challenge, can't hold up the ball and his passing is atrocious...oh, and he fouls far too often. Sako was a breath of fresh air and actually lifted the team and let's face it he's a Championship player at best. Ship out Benteke and Townsend asap.

What did the commentators on TV say about Wilf's goal?
It was amazing right?

This sits firmly at Pardew's door, though questions have to be asked why he was allowed to carry on for so long.

No wonder the players look like they wanted Pardew, the fitness levels are shocking.

Major surgery required, I know which of Pardew and Big Sam I'd hand my money too and expect them to sign a decent player (ignoring comments about skimming)

To all those doubting BFS there is a reason he has never been relegated and a reason Palace never seemed to beat his teams. They tend to be well setup, but Christ knows he has inherited a mess.

Jedi out not replaced
Bolasie out replaced with a lazy, sulking prima Donna
Murray out with replacement
Gayle out without replacement

Granted Benteke has come in, but neither he nor Cabaye have set the world alight.

This isn't Sam's team. Underperforming, on a bad run, unfit, lacking confidence - these are all hallmarks of how Pardew leaves a club.

Will never forget with Pardew the playoff year and him having "the academy" stamped all over the West Ham staff tops. All about the image, whereas Neil Shipperly wasn't overly concerned with image and had reputation as dour, but I know which one i would want in the trenches with me. Same as with Pardew or BFS

With BFS will be no comments or decisions like

Bringing on a striker with 5 mins to go against United when you have just equalised.
No picking a keeper based on distribution rather than ability to stop the ball.
No playing Zaha in the middle and Mcarthur on the right.
No stupid comments about "clean sheets not being overly important"
No Patrick Sanogo.

Apart from Tony Pulis there is no one better for this situation, it's a dog fight, it doesn't suit a Mancini style, it's a war to stay up.

Well he plays Wilf on the left, thats f***ing worse then anything else.... And still plays Ward on the wrong side too with Kelly starting, so don't give me the "he knows how to manage" s***e

I really, honestly, seriously can not believe I'm reading this!! I know you desperately wanted Pardew out, but to hang on blaming him for basic poor managing (Wilf and Ward on the left) from the current chap is unbelievable. Ward is a weak link when he plays on the right and for premier league standards really poor as a LB. Kelly is just not good enough, you perhaps can blame AP for having him in the squad altogether but he certainly can not be blamed for him not being able to pass a ball over 10 yards.

The way the team operate they will struggle in The Championship too.

Four years in the moneybags Prem and if we leave it we will have achieved fvck all. Same ground, very few youth coming through and 40% of the club owned by some blokes based in America.

G'night.

Unless something dramatic happens and soon then I have to agree with you sadly.
How has it come to this. There is so much wrong where do you start.
My worry is that even with a good window it will be too late given the end of season fixtures.
I looked last night and reckon that even if we improve we are not likely to get more than 34 points and that will see us down.
We are as bad as the teams around us and despite everyone saying we will stay up with our squad I just can't see it.
Our best player is away for the next few games; our injury list is impressive; to buy we need to sell or give players away; the team spirit of yesteryear is a distant memory - thanks Alan Pardew for selling Jedinak, Gayle and Yala.
We are in the s***e and I am not sure that even Fat Sam can extricate us from it.
Very sad.

Oh - and the purchase of Townsend has to be right up there with the worst buys of the Century.
How he has ever got an England cap I will never know - when Sako looks better than you then you should really worry!
Fat Sam finally realised that Wilf on the right is the best solution - whilst he is at it then play Ward at right back - at least one full back will know what they are doing then.
Finally - Frazier Campbell - a player I have never rated - worked his socks off for 45 minutes last night - give him a few games I say (did I really say that?)

I just posted on the thread where the poster said we should never have sacked Pardew.
Our problem is we kept him too long - he should have gone at the end of last season!
I posted when Jedinak left that this would prove to be Pardew's single biggest error and I think I am right.
We miss leadership and organisation on the field. We miss someone winning those headers and putting their foot in and taking one for the team.
Yes - his detractors will say he had his faults but his plus points far outweighed them.
With him went the team spirit and more and last night really showed what we are missing.
If Fat Sam can get a midfield dynamo - amongst others - then we have a faint chance of turning it around.
We need to become difficult to beat very quickly but based on last night we could be called Capitulation Palace FC!

Steve Parish has some really tough to decisions to make now.
I am afraid I don't know the rules but can you keep a layer and pay his wages but leave him out of the squad and it not count in the fair play rules?
If we can then to save our skins we need to just drop a few people so that we can buy.
It will cost us a fortune but might mean survival.
Being ignorant on this might mean the above is not possible?
On a positive note - CPFC are never better than when our backs are against the wall - and our back is definitely against a large wall!
On a negative note we don't appear to have any team spirit now to exercise that!
