If I was Pards I would try very hard to make Remy happen over the next three days. We are in a position of strength and this may be the time to push the boat out. Falcao's goal yesterday might also help open the door on this one just a tiny crack. To be fair, I do not think Chelsea will let him go but they are a team in transition right now, they are really not using Remy after four games to a degree that he is likely to be happy with, and we are probably a much more attractive destination for Remy than it appeared a month ago. I don't think it will happen, but it's worth asking the question. been thinking this all day Syd. We're a more attractive proposition now given the way we've started the season and maybe Pards and Cabaye in his ear could see this over the line. Even on Saturday when they were facing certain defeat, there was still no sign of Remy. He's too good to be sitting on the bench every week. Even for Chelsea. He can't be happy with that. As sad as I am to see Murray looking like he's going, if he and Gayle were to go and we got Remy I can't see how anyone could see that as anything other than progress. For the record, I don't think Chelsea will sell him, but he's the one I've always wanted through this transfer window, much more so than Austin. Maybe this isn't dead yet. Agree with the both of you but I think Mourinhos whole model is to have 3 players with Remy being the 3rd.. I would be absolutely stunned if mourinho was to sell Remy. Also agree that he was the one I wanted most out of all realistic CF's but I honestly do believe Charlie Austin is the next best thing between 10-15 mil for us

Agree with the comments above about Mourinho's approach and him being unlikely to sell but there are two things which might mitigate that. First, if Remy wants the move; if he really pushes from his side that might make a difference. It doesn't always do so, but if a player makes his unhappiness clear it can break an impasse. No idea whether Remy would do this, but it's possible. Second, Mourinho might now be prepared to accept that he is in a rebuilding season, maybe focus on the Champions League and turning over his squad and as a result be a little more flexible than he might be with players were Chelsea sitting in first place, dominating all and sundry. Don't get me wrong, I think it's massively unlikely we could get Remy today but as I said, it's worth asking the question.
