Is all this delight in the demise of an 87 year old woman with dementia proportionate or indeed seemly ?? Not too much class on display is there ? It'd bee a lot more vibrant if it had been a 50 year old woman. Quote The Sash at 09 Apr 2013 2.56pm
Whatever you thought of her as a PM or the mythical creature she has grown into she is hardly up there as historys greatest monster As for murdering c*** McGuiness... Well she did order the sinking of the Belgano, outside of the exclusion zone, killing several hundred people and possibly a war crime (throws cat out into the crowd of pidgeons). Of all the old cock and bull, truth, half truth and damn lie I have read about Mrs T my favourite thing is still my mate offering condolensces on her death to Mr T, Face and Howlimg Mad Murdoch on his FB page..
You could quite easily blame the left wing for its ridiculous self implosion throughout the period which consistently failed to protect or act in the best interests of the working class or the ordinary citizens of the country - the labour party failed as much as Thatcherism created a sink or swim society You would think Britian was some kind of golden utopia whwre streets were paved with gold and we all loved each other unconditionally until she got her claws into it to read some of the stuff on her and elsewhere Selective political amnesia, blind party ideology or just plain stupidity and ignorance seem to be the order of the day whichever way you turn which is why I am aiming to stay out of it all Edited by The Sash (09 Apr 2013 4.09pm)

Nepotism. How on earth did your useless son become rich ? You must have learnt from George Bush Snr. Can't argue with most of your post, Forest, but in this case the Thatchers were offered all sorts of free assistance to find the stupid boy, but Maggie insisted they pay for it out of their own money.
Goodness is what you do. Not who you pray to. |

It's kinda telling I think that most of the individual posters on here and the bbs - about 70 per cent - I reckon, have her down as someone who did more harm than good. Now nearly all of us old enough posters would have been in the better off South East during 1979-90. Yet still so many have her down as a negative overall. Thus, It stands to reason that the Thatcher wasn't- good -for the -UK voices in the celtic countries, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North East - places that really did feel the full force of her economic policies - must be frighteningly higher. We can't be all wrong, can we? Edited by Kermit8 (09 Apr 2013 4.20pm)
