The other main thread is now pointless!

I would be happy with either Pellegrino or De Boer but would prefer Pellegrino. As for Dyche, I just can't believe how low we would be aiming with him.

On the other thread I've mentioned Puel a few times and would still welcome him. However some jumped on me as they railled about his poor run-in in Southampton's last 8 games. Fair enough, but he still took them to 8th as the 'best of the rest' and did so under immmense pressure knowing that the board were about to "review" his position. Dyche's achievement at Burnley comes nowhere close to Puel's first season in the Prem!

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

I hope that whoever is appointed has good contacts in the transfer market because our scouting 'network', even compared to Brighton's, sounds a bit...well...err...crap frankly:

Might also be inferior reporting of our set up. Reporter writes the one thing he knows and pads it out. Not to say that we haven't made some dire purchases which do show there's a lot to be done.

however I think as a manager Pelligrino would have the edge AND has worked with Sammy lee before.

This has been mentioned a few times already but it would be interesting to know if the two actually like and respect each other as if they don't it could create all sorts of problems.

That's out-of-date and is not the case since the restructuring following the US investors joining. It was only the case with respect to the period the original four held equal shares.

That information is out of date as the directors may not have paid themselves anything in the last financial year but SP now pays himself £650,000 pa

The latest accounts show a salary of £692,000 paid to a single director (page 18):

Firstly this will probably be in the main thread next time you look and secondly Puel may have taken Southampton to 8th place but their 46 points was only six points more than Dyche's Burnley yet Southampton had a vastly greater player budget to work with.

It would have been interesting to see where Southampton and Burnley would have ended up if each had the opposing manager in charge last year

Apparently we're possibly going to talk to Dyche this week - for the first time. So what have Parish and co actually been doing in the past 4 weeks since Sam resigned?

I think that this is the same story being circulated and, has been pointed out, we don't know if it's actually true. Personally I'd be disappointed if we'd interviewed him at any time; he's not progress.
