Well I am glad we can both enjoy a little bit of banter too.

You take care!

I dream of aa world which is Trump free but accept he will be here for a few months yet.

Wisbech, serious question. Where do you get your news feeds from. I mean which organisations, individuals, pod casts, news feeds etc? What people in the public sphere have opinions you see as balanced and objective?

I’m glad too - I wouldn’t correspond with you if I didn’t and hope your ex is as well as can be expected.
Right now that’s done what other nonsense have you got?

Yeah seriously though. I'm not sure to what extent people are just getting their ideology fed to them by biased news or are just interpreting exactly the same news in a completely different way.

I get my news from completely an unbiased and neutral source - The BBC

I will try to give you a serious answer.

I don't use any specific sources to the exclusion of all others. The BBC is open in my browser all the time as my goto source of information on sport and the weather, and "breaking news". I then follow the scent. If there is a big story I will read accounts of it from a variety of sources. If it is something in the USA I will read both CNN and Fox to see how both sides of the coin report things. I shy away from internet based sources like Huffnews or Breitbart, and certainly InfoWars, because I don't trust their editorial controls. I follow Donald Trump on Twitter and often read the comments of those who respond to him as this gives an insight into how his supporters react and how his critics tear him apart. I rarely watch pod casts or read blogs. I prefer to work things out myself having gathered as much fact as I can. I used to write a blog myself, but only as my journey from a cancer diagnosis to being given the all clear, seemed worth sharing as a possible way to help those in the first days.

There are politicians I instinctively trust as being honest and straightforward, even if I don't always agree with them. Ken Clarke, Michael Heseltine, John Major as Tories but none of the current crop of buffoons. Frank Field, Tom Watson, Ben Bradshaw on the other side. Nichola Sturgeon seems a decent sort.

Outside of politics David Attenborough and Brian Cox, alongside other calm and reasoned thinkers who address the issues without thinking of how it works for them and their careers. Oh and, of course, Sir Roy Hodgson the most obviously decent man to ever manage Palace.

I do appreciate you taking the time to answer and this seems honest but it really is exactly how i would expect you would answer. It's mainstream media and people that entirely support that narrative. All of those politicians and celebrities you mentioned propose the same globalist and EU centric, eco friendly "if everyone would just be nice we can solve everyone", feminism friendly, self flagellating worldview which you are trapped in. To top it all you are also relying on the hyperbole and disinformation from Twitter.

Do yourself a favour and start with Tim Pool (Youtube and podcasts) for honest and non-partisan commentary and the actual journalism that we are missing. He's a centrist by any reasonable measure and further left than myself but you may learn something that will open your eyes. Even if you don't agree I suspect you might learn to realize that journalism from the mainstream is now almost dead once you are again exposed to the real thing.

At least I can say I tried.

I was similar to you only a couple of years ago by the way.

That applies to most people though really, left and right. It's all very much off the shelf solutions that exclude and dial down realities or nuance that is inconvenient. Online or offline, you're not being handed an unvarnished truth. Nor as environments become polarised, is anyone particularly seeking that out anyway. Having a view that takes on board multiple perspectives becomes outmoded, an inconvenience to the increasingly unrealistic pipedream world views it is surrounded by.

So...I think we can take it you're not a 'Sun' reader then.

Whetever people get their information from its difficult to believe its going to be completely unbiased. Writers and readers have their own prejudices and readers generally tend to read writers who support their own views and beliefs. Im sure you realise that anyway.
