It is very well drawing conclusions without knowing all the facts.Sometimes one has to go from 'Plan A' to 'Plan B' and even 'Plan C' as various factors come into the equation.A protracted selection process can be frustrating for supporters of course but also for those responsible for getting the deal "Over the line".I suspect we won't need to wait too much longer ! Edited by Willo (20 Jun 2017 8.15am) The fact we all know is we still have no manager in place and it's been over a month.

You see this is what happens with t'internet at the disposal of folk that either have a vested interest (agents) or those looking to make a few quid (journos). As far as I can tell these are the facts in this case: 1. Nobody at Palace has confirmed we are talking to Dyche. 2. Dyche is not actually quoted anywhere as actually stating he wants the job. 3. Burnley have not confirmed they have given permission for both parties to speak to each other. Basically, it's all rumour, supposition & lazy journalism.

Two of the hot favourites are unemployed so your "various factors" should have been sorted ages ago. If the delay is waiting for either of them to see if they have a better offer elsewhere then they fail one of SP's main criteria anyway. If the target is a British manager currently in employment surely the negotiations with his club should have been completed weeks ago as you can't just wait and wait until transfer deadline day to see if can drive the price down as SP has admitted to doing with player transfers. I don't accept holidays as a valid excuse as any unemployed manager who wants a job will take a day out of his holiday to meet up with SP and further negotiations can be conducted via Skype I can't think of any other possible reason for delays but as Willo has mentioned it a few times perhaps he can come up with some

How many times-we get in the right manager FOR THE PLAYERS WE ALREADY HAVE-THIS IS WHY MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION IS SO IMPORTANT. We need possibly 4/5 additions to the SQUAD, even with the team that beat Hull and Sammy Lee in charge we will be able to compete with HUDDERSFIELD on the opening day, plus the 3/4 easyish fixtures that proceed. Some of you are saying you wish we had Brightons scouting network? Based on f***ing what? We've been in the premier league for 4 years under the stewardship of what we have, Brighton have not. I swear 90% of you are on here are off your heads.

There is a risk here that we could end up with no one if our tactic of trying to play both ends against the middle fails. I much prefer the Watford-style of recruitment; select target, make it happen, end of. It's not like we have a better record than them as far as revolving door management is concerned, despite all of our supposed careful work in making an appointment.
