From a right wing tabloid making the same unsubstantiated assertions about Biden and the motivation for the Trump indictments that all the right in the USA do?

The only thing interesting in that is that they acknowledge Trump could be a crook.

I have always said that if evidence of corruption involving Joe Biden emerges then he should face exactly the same treatment as Trump. Right now it has not.

The point is that they could both be crooks which is a poor prospect for American voters. A narcissistic liar or a doddering cardboard cutout are not great choices without their being criminals as well.

Jeepers Wisbech this is getting painful.

My main point which relates to the subject matter of this thread is simple.

ALL the unsubstantiated allegations against Trump are covered day in day out by the BBC accompanied by the worst pics of him they can find.

None or very few of the unsubstantiated allegations against Biden are covered by the BBC and if they are, they are scant and buried somewhere on page 14.

It doesn’t take a clever guy to realise their is no balance or fairness with the BBC editorial team.

The problem is their hatred of Trump (who admittedly is a tool) is affecting their ability to report on an even bigger crook Biden. That ain’t right.

Let’s leave it there.

Trump has been indicted. Several times. Biden has not. Not once.

Unless and until either is found guilty neither can be called a crook. Trump is much closer though than Biden.

Even if every assertion being levelled at Biden and Trump proved to be true, which seems extremely unlikely, there is no doubt at all whose criminality would receive the greatest punishment. It’s not Biden.

The BBC are giving entirely appropriate coverage. Indictments of a former President running again is serious news. Political smearing and innuendo is tittle tattle suitable for the tabloids but not the BBC. Should it be elevated to indictment then you would see a change.

That though isn’t the point is it?

The point is that the piece you referenced just makes the same old assertions.

Anyone could be a crook. No one is until convicted. No one has yet. Trump is though much closer than Biden.

You are as entitled to your opinion as anyone else as to their respective characters. I am not especially enamoured by Biden either but compared to Trump he is a Saint. In my opinion.

I don’t approve news outlets. I read them. Some with greater trust than others. Some with significant scepticism.

And dismiss them out of hand regardless of the content.
If the only qualification to be leader of the free world is not being Donald Trump there are millions of candidates who could do a better job whilst forming cogent sentences, not falling over or having crackhead influence selling sons.

They aren’t dismissed out of hand! They are given entirely appropriate coverage.

Who suggested the only qualification is not to be Trump? That almost anyone else would be preferable to him isn’t the same thing.

Biden should not, and I believe will not, stand again. Not because he isn’t a great public speaker or that he has a troubled son, but because he did his job in 2020 and it’s now time for a new direction that can try to heal the divide.

I predict he will announce his withdrawal in the Spring citing that whilst the assertions against him have no merit they are a distraction that no Presidential candidate should contemplate being allowed to cloud the electorate’s judgement. Furthermore, if assertions justify withdrawal how much more so do a raft of actual indictments?

Links are dismissed as biased reporting most of the time and Biden is regularly defended on here on the grounds that Trump would be worse.
Maybe an answer for America is that they need a viable third party.

And what was his ‘job’ in 2020 then. Anyone but trump ?

Are you pretending that Trump isn't being stitched up?

A judge whose self pronounced ambition is to get Trump?

Give it a rest man.

HAHAHAHa!

Brilliant!

The bronzed, blond Adonis!

I could see both of those on the BBC News website.

Or my bedroom wall.

Haha! That's really cheered me up.
