This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle All this hysteria is caused by one fake news headline by a forgotten mainstream newspaper desperately trying to stay afloat and repeated, as if factually true, by other failing mainstream media outlets and a bunch of small online-only amateurish "news" sites all scrambling for clicks to chase ad revenue. They repeatedly lie, or tell half truths, or publish opinion as fact, or just regurgitate old stories to fill up space, and do not face retribution by simply saying; "a source", "our sources", "reportedly", then when called out, or proven wrong they suddenly go quiet. I call people snowflakes because they seem to be so delicate, so easily triggered by fake news, so willing to spew nonsense opinion as fact, and insult people for something they have not done. IF we sell Zaha and do not replace him, THEN I'll call SP and DF fools, but not before. I thought Palace fans would be more mature, more pragmatic, less emotional; we are not glory hunters to follow a club on a whim.
I am not a bot. No, seriously, I'm not. |

Why is there an f-ing love in for Everton on here? Those of you praising Everton are neither Palace fans nor football fans as far as I’m concerned. Everton are a better team then Palace, but not even in the top six in this country. I will be absolutely shocked if they achieve anything this year and there is no evidence to prove otherwise. A few trying to praise their team on paper need their heads checked, Richarlison is s***, Kean is untested and Zaha has only ever performed at Palace. Even then that is nowhere near a front three of Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe for Arsenal, probably the worst of the top six teams. Their defence is awful and midfield mediocre. Zaha may as well play in the PL for Palace and achieve nothing. If he wants to play in Europe or win trophies by all means I’ll be pleased for him but a move to Everton will be extremely insulting to those of us who have supported him for so long. Don’t even try to make excuses that this is for footballing reasons you’re embarrassing yourselves Why does it matter where he goes - if he isn't a Palace player, then I couldn't care less. Everton offer £65M I accept Everton's offer - it's all about Palace in my book. Couldn't give a rats arse about Everton's lack of CL credentials.

Everton would not be forgivable.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

whilst Tosun may not have settled well at Everton, don't forget we were seriously interested at the time. When you say that we were interested in Tosun I think that it was Sam Allardyce that wanted him when he was manager here and it was Sam Allardyce that bought him for Everton when he was manager there too

If we hadn't had such a disastrous transfer window we could well be kicking on and challenging for Europe. Everton have signed some interesting players but have also sold one of their best in Gueye, and don't forget for large parts of last year they were w@nk. Wilf, don't go to another team who'll start booing you after your first dodgy cross. Stay where you're loved mate, and prove to all these muppets that you're worth 100 mill by banging in 20 for us.
If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4 |

Just a fact that they’ve been top tier over 50 years and big question marks over who gets fourth Champions League spot behind City, Liverpool and Spurs.

Everton are a big step up from Palace, they really do have a chance of European football and seem to be the only club with willing to pay for him. If true that they are almost doubling his wages, it isn't greed but common sense that would make him want to go there. Not that we know if there is any truth in the romour anyway. Their only chance of Europe depends on getting through the early stages of "Its a Knockout".

I certainly don't expect them to care two hoots. They don't give a fig about their loyal supporters who have to put up with shoddy facilities and an appalling matchday experience in terms of catering, refreshments etc etc. Yup can't disagree with you there. Fact is, we've been punching above our weight season after season ... and the wheels were always going to come off at some stage. Just hope I'm proved wrong ...

I’d have thought with the sort of club we are and what we’ve been through, our fans would be a bit more level headed but the comments on all Palace related social media are absolutely toxic.
